Holy mullet and porn stache.

This is Scorpio all the way. he's in his home town in his promotion. how could he lose here? People forget how great he really was at his best and how innovative he was. The 450 can stop anybody and it'll stop Finlay too.

You think Scorpio would win, KB? I don't. Finlay is one tough SOB. He can take it and he can dish it out. If this were the midget-loving, happy Irishman, then Scorpio takes it. If it's the Man that Loves to Fight, Finlay wins. Finlay is crafty and smart. He'll use everything to his advantage: the ring, weapons, announce tables, even the referee. Don't forget about the shillelagh.

I'm taking it that you've never watched an old school ECW match. Not RVD v. Sabu old school, but old school like Scorpio v. Malenko and Scorpio v. RVD.

Scorpio is an amazing athlete, and could do anything anywhere. While I won't praise him as the 2nd coming, he is definitely a force to be reckoned with in an ECW bracket. His matches in Germany and Japan would even speak more about him than anything he did here in the states.

Finlay is a true fighter though. This match would be the match to watch if this were a real match of them in their primes.

My guess, Scorpio ends it with a 450 Splash off a balcony, on to Finlay, through a table. Maybe 2.

I think Finlay is seen as a brawler and hardcore wrestler because that is what he has been since he has been in north america, but it hasn't always been the case that Finlay is a ground and pounder. The video below should demonstrate this.

That being said, Finlay does have hardcore sensibilities as well, and I think that he would just about edge out 2 Cold Scorpio in a tight match up.

Hmm tough match up here. This isnt the Finlay that hangs around a stupid midget in a hat this is the man that loves to fight and fight he will.

Then you have 2 Cold Scorpio who was good in ECW and thats where this match takes place. So yeah dont really know who I will vote for atm.

I had to watch teh match on mute that annouhncer was so horrible. anyway I see this going for wrestling match to brawl due to Finlay The end will lok like this Finlay grabs his Shalayay he's abouty to hit scorpio then Scorpio super kicks Finlay then he climbs a ladder and he hits it the Scorpio splash 1 .. 2 .. 3. I ssay Scorpio wins this in an awesome match.

I think in this case, the environment would cancel each other out. 2 Cold Scorpio was in ECW, but Finlay is the winner of the WCW Junkyard invitational, came back after what was viewed a career ending injury (and not an HBK 'oh my neck hurts', I'd better retire and come back in two months way), and he still came back.

Finlay is a tough guy and shouldn't be counted out. He's shown himself as being able to counter any style of wrestling, from submission to power. He can ground Scorpio and do what he needs to to get the job done. Shillelagh, piledriver, anything he needed to.

All of your points are valid, except this one. He may be able to ground Scorpio, but it's not like Scorpio can't mat wrestle. In fact, he mat wrestles most of the match, to set up his high-flying stuff to finish it. I'm not going to campaign against Finlay, because he'd put up a hell of a showing here, but I will campaign for Scorpio.

This one was a tough one for me. I respect Finlay fully, I think he is one of the toughest and hard working guys out there. I also respect the hell out of Scorpio for his agility, and excitement value he brings to matches. If you watch some of his stuff from Japan it really is great. This is in an ECW style match, both men can hold their own. Ultimatley, I am going to go with Scorpio, but it's a close call. Just remembering some of the awesome shit he did back in the early ECW days made me make my mind on this vote.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Finlay and his legacy in the business. But 2 Cold is simply an amazing wrestler. I have heard a few wrestlers state during shoot interviews (Sabu is the only one I remember off the top of my head) that Scorpio is the greatest wrestler they have ever stepped in the ring with. That is a huge compliment coming from a peer. And to have more than one guy make that same statement, well, that's saying something.

Finlay is probably the strongest of the two, but Scorpio wins in every other category. He is a better technician, he's faster, smarter and has experience in the sometimes chaotic world of ECW. A tough match, but Scorpio should take this one.

Finlay's more than proven he's capable of hanging with mat wrestlers and stopping them from having effective offence. It's not pretty, but the guy has been around long enough that he has seen everything and has a way round it. Be it brawling, or picking on a body part the guy can do it. Want an example, watch him against Benoit

I think Benoit is a solid enough mat wrestler to prove my point? Yes?

I love me some old school 2 Cold Scorpio. If I remember right, he's a former ECW champion from the beginnings of that company, even though I could be wrong. The guy could fly with the best of the cruiserweights, and was just enjoyable to watch. Bad career move with the long lost distant Cousin of Terry Funk gimmick in Flash Funk, but live and learn.

That being said, there are few men I respect more in the business then Finlay. The guy was always enjoyable to watch while in WCW, and granted I haven't seen a whole lot of his early work, but if he was half as good as what I saw in the 90's, then he must be fantastic. Even near or in his 50's today, the guy is one of the best things to watch in the WWE, and I'm more impressed with him now then I have been with Scorpio, as much of a fan of his that I am.

This would be a hellacious match. This ranks up there with Dynamite Kid and Masceras. 2 Cold was a mainstay in ECW, but Finlay is a brawler and one tough SOB. So that balances out. This two would beat the snot out of each other. But in the end I'm going with 2 Cold in a close, bloody, hell of a match up.

You say this like Scorpio is a young pup. He's been around just as long, and has done just as much, if not more. Much like Vader, he had a ton of success in the US, but his real successes come from Europe and Japan. I'm not knocking Finlay but I have to go with Scorpio here.

Finlay's all right. Granted, I'm most familiar with his stuff in WCW and WWE, but, from what I've seen on youtube and Daily Motion, my opinion of him hasn't changed that much.

As for 2 Cold Scorpio, there are few that have been as underrated as he is. Although squat, he has an impressive arsenal of high-flying maneuvers that could take out anyone. Furthermore, as many have already said, this is in ECW, a promotion where he found the most success and where the fans loved him. And, as I mentioned in the Brody vs. McDaniel thread, this is not a shoot. Rather, it is a wrestling match. Finlay may be a legitimate "tough guy," but, in a wrestling match, I don't think he has what it takes to ground Scorpio, who will be moving mainly on the ropes and at an extremely quick pace.

Pick: Scorpio
