RESULTS

DARK MATCH

GRANDMASTER SEXAY & STEVE BLACKMAN vs. JUSTIN CREDIBLE & X-PAC (w/Albert)
Thanks to a distraction from Albert at ringside, X-Pac hits the X-Factor on Blackman to pick up the victory before WrestleMania kicks off.

WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP

CHRIS JERICHO [c] vs. WILLIAM REGAL
Despite Regal targeting the shoulder of Jericho from the early stages of the match, the Intercontinental Champion is able to overcome this and hits the Lionsault to successfully retain the title against the Commissioner of the WWF. Jericho, after weeks of niggle between himself and Regal, finally gets one over on his challenger to keep hold of the Intercontinental Championship here tonight.

6-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH

APA & TAZZ (w/Jacqueline)vs. RIGHT TO CENSOR (w/Steven Richards)
In a hard-fought 6-man tag, the crowd are delighted to see Right to Censor defeated here at WrestleMania. Bradshaw, a native Texan, hits the Clothesline from Hell to the Goodfather and picks up the win for his team.

WWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP

HARDCORE TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
RAVEN [c] vs. BIG SHOW vs. KANE
Fighting in the bowels of the Astrodome for much of the match, the game Hardcore Champion tries everything to find a way to overcome the two behemoths he is defending against here tonight. When the actions winds back onto the stage area - after action involving golf buggies, falling walls and shattered glass windows – Kane manages to drop the leg through the stage debris and covers Raven to become the NEW Hardcore Champion.

WWF EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

TEST [c] vs. EDDIE GUERRERO (w/Perry Saturn)
Another new champion is crowned as Eddie Guerrero, despite being dominated for long periods by the bigger, stronger Test, picks up the cheap win after hitting Test in the face with the European Championship. Thanks in part to Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko who appeared near the end of the match, Guerrero becomes the NEW European Champion and the Radicals celebrate to the anger of Test.

GRUDGE MATCH

CHRIS BENOIT vs. KURT ANGLE
With both men desperate to prove their superiority over the other, Benoit and Angle engage in a technical, submission battle at first until Angle, frustrated at the way Benoit is hanging with him, turns it into a brawl instead. In the end, after close calls all around, Angle uses the tights to score a roll-up victory which does nothing to prove anything and sets the scene for further battles between the pair.

WWF WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

IVORY [c] vs. CHYNA
After Ivory and the Right to Censor put Chyna on the shelf with a damaged neck, Chyna’s return at Royal Rumble failed when she re-injured her neck. However, on the big WrestleMania stage, Chyna has no such problems and dominates Ivory from the start to become the NEW Women’s Champion.

STREET FIGHT

Special Referee: Mick Foley
SHANE McMAHON vs. VINCE McMAHON (w/Stephanie McMahon)
With Shane McMahon sick of the way his father treats his family, this family feud erupts here tonight in an all-out brawl. Shane, the new owner of WCW of course, starts fired up but Vince wears him down and looks to be heading for the win when Trish Stratus heads out with Vince’s wife, Linda. For some reason, Trish turns on Vince and slaps the hell out of him before she chases Stephanie out of the arena. However, it also turns out that Linda McMahon is not as sedated as her husband believes and she kicks him hard in the nuts before Shane goes coast-to-coast through a trash can to seal a monumental victory over his father.

WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS

TLC TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
DUDLEY BOYZ [c] vs. CHRISTIAN & EDGE vs. HARDY BOYZ
In a breathtaking, show-stealing match, these three teams leave it all in the ring as they desperately try to emerge as the Tag Team Champions. With involvement from the likes of Lita, Spike Dudley and Rhyno, Edge and Christian, thanks to Rhyno, are able to ascend the ladder to get the belts and win the match but that is only half of the story as all six men put their bodies through hell.

GIMMICK BATTLE ROYALE

IRON SHEIK won by finally eliminating HILLBILLY JIM

GRUDGE MATCH

TRIPLE H vs. THE UNDERTAKER
With Stephanie McMahon left backstage by her husband for fear that this may turn brutal, Triple H is proved to be dead right and he battles the American Bad Ass all over the arena as they each look to destroy the other. Through the technical areas and crowd, both men are intent on damaging the other and the win is almost secondary. When they finally return to the ring, Triple H uses the sledgehammer and appears to have the match won but ‘Taker somehow survives to hit the Last Ride and get the win.

WWF CHAMPIONSHIP

“NO HOLDS BARRED” MATCH
THE ROCK [c] vs. STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN
The two biggest superstars in this era of the WWF, the two men who drove WWF on to defeat WCW in the Monday Night Wars and, for the second WrestleMania in two years, the two men main eventing WrestleMania with the biggest prize in the business up for grabs. At the last moment, it is announced that this match will be “No Holds Barred” and the two engage in an epic battle as they look to walk out as the WWF Champion. However, both men are unable to find the key to finishing the match and then Vince McMahon, the long-time nemesis of both men, heads into the arena to confusion. After promising to shock the world tonight, McMahon shockingly sides with Stone Cold Steve Austin who, to the dismay of many of his fellow Texans in the Astrodome, accepts the help of the man he has feuded with for the last four years! Destroying Rock with a steel chair, McMahon and Austin’s unholy alliance is born and it leads Austin to close the show as the new WWF Champion. Celebrating with a beer or three, Austin and McMahon have destroyed The Rock here tonight and the whole world is in complete shock. Why has Austin sold his soul to the Devil?
