X-Pac is an underrated solid wrestler. The crowd eventually turned on him, but in 1999 he was huge and the fans loved him. Unbelievably, DX was much better with him than it was with Michaels, but I think that has more to do with Triple H being centre stage. X-Pac is worthy of being in this tournament, and there are a number of people I'd put him over, but Michaels can't be one of them. Michaels had his weaknesses, but guys like this weren't one of them. Michaels wins.

Awfully quiet in here. I would have expected this thread to have had more replies. While I do find Michaels to be overrated, thanks in part to his bloated reputation by the WWE promotional machine, if he had retired in 1997, he still would have had a HOFame level career. Instead, he returned to wrestling in the early 00's on a comeback tour that lasted another decade and wound up having an even more lucrative career as a main event level attraction than he did as a main event level champion holder. Not many wrestlers in history have managed to do this, but Michaels is one. Compared to Bret, I'd say he's at least earned his reputation.

X-Pac was a popular mid card champion and a good hand, but he was never the superstar that Shawn Michaels was.

Easy decision. Vote Michaels.

Easy decision. Michaels is a legend, Pac is a fondly remembered afterthought. Would be fun to watch but no way Michaels gets jobbed.
