It's only been mentioned a million times on the internet. Difference is of course it's an out of touch white millionaire trying to be hip, rather out and out racism.
Yes, I remember McMahon failing at an attempt to be "hip".
I remember when he started bobbing his head to Cena's music. Found it amusing.
But yeah scripted stupidity vs actual racism. Huge difference.
What's also funny is Hogan possibly being removed from the HOF, while, among others, a(nother) raging racist (Trump), raging homophobe (Warrior), wifebeater (Austin), alleged murderer (Snuka) and convicted rapist (Tyson) are in.
That's what really makes me chuckle over this whole thing, or any time a celebrity has a revelation like this: it's the worst thing in the world for about a day, then people realize that it's not a huge deal. Yeah Hogan said some dumb, mean things, but that's all he did: said something. Like you said: Austin beat up his wife and Tyson raped a woman. Using some racial slurs eight years ago is really nothing by comparison, but since it's happening now, people are freaking out over it.
They released a statement addressing the video.
Racism has been rampant in the WWE supposedly for decades. So many people have been accused of it. So isn't this a little bit of a double standard? Seems like Hogan is just being made an example of because he's the latest to "be caught" even if the comments were made years ago. And racism has become a particular touchy subject stateside in recent years so I'm sure that makes the situation worse.
The stuff he actually says doesn't help his cause though. Other people just sounded ignorant. Hogan came off flat out hateful.
They were really quick to can the jackass, which leads me to believe they had probably wanted rid of him for some time now. Why? Outside of just generally being a dishonest person, who knows.
I do wonder how well he is earning his keep.
