Any Idea's?

I've got this Virus on my computer that keep trying to install Anti-Spyware stuff. Telling me I have a Virus (worst Virus ever FFS). My Anti-Virus doesn't seem to be able to take care of it for some reason I ran one scan thought I'd got rid of it completely and it came back again within 10 minutes.

Anyone have any idea's how to get rid of this bastard which doesn't involve me wiping my Hard Disk?

I think I had that same thing once, fucked my computer up, had to clean out everything on my hardrive and have everything re-installed, it should be noted I didn't have any restore disks at the time, cause my friend built my computer, and the genius decided to store all the restore software on the other hardrive (which was also effected by the stupid fucking virus)

try avast and komodo a few times

this student at my school runs comp repair on personal and school provided labtops. Given that many people are idiots with porn on their computers, he got very good at removing shit loads of viruses

Yeah my virus scanner is not getting rid of it, and I can't access anything on the computer except for My Documents, Media Player and The Internet (which it should be noted is turned off and I'm on another computer).

When I go into My Computer my Hard Disk isn't there to access and I cant even get into the Start Menu programs. Anyone got any idea why my virus scanner wouldn't be picking it up, I was thinking of waiting for a few days and updating my virus scanner and trying to scan it then to see if it will do any good, I have so much on my computer that I don't have backed up anywhere and that I don't want to lose. I have a boot disk if worst comes to worst though.

The system restore thing any chance someone could walk me through that?

Well a diagnostic is generially the best first step.
If the virus is throwing up some messages then it should be fairly easy to identify what it is simply through googleing it (otherwise you'll just have to google discriptions, which takes longer), and once you know what it is it's generially quite easy to find out how to get rid of it again.

I had one that did this myself; loaded my usertray with icons trying to make me install a dodgy anti-spyware program. It was quite easy to identify with all the pop up messages were very badly spelled.

There's a program called Spyware Doctor, which is good.

You may have to reformat your system. Some Spyware just doesn't go away, and I've spent half my career trying to get rid of it.
