Someone told me the limit was 400px wide. So I hit a 500 by 300 and it was still legal, so huzzah for me!

I understand a 800x600px image, but not so much a 550x100 streamline.

Yeah the total limit is 800 pixels all together, but the maximum height or width is 500 pixels. So 500 x 300 is perfectly fine.
