Casino Royale

This one is tough for me. Brokeback was just great. If you can get psat the homosexual aspect of it, you'll see what a truly great love story it is. The movie just clicks on all levels and its a tremendous work of art. I almost cried during it, but not quite.

On the other hand, we have a Bond movie, which means high intensity. These movies follow a general formula but always work. The poker scene made me mark out like no other, and the plot made sense to me. Its a great movie with the typical hot bond girl and great tongue in cheek humor. And a naked Daniel Craig in a chair. ALl that being said, Bond squeaks out a win.

Brokeback Mountain is a fantastic film. It contains an amazing love story, regardless of the participant's sexual orientations. I had friends who wouldn't watch it because it "gay cowboys" in it. How one dimensional those friends are. This movie is truly great.

Casino Royale is also a great movie. The Bond movie franchise begins again, and it's better than ever. My only complaint is there is tooo much poker playing. As someone who doesn't play poker, those scenes dragged for me. But the action in the rest of the film is top notch.

It was close but Brokeback Mountain gets my vote.

I wish I'd have seen Brokeback Mountain so I could vote in this. So instead, I'll just bring up some points:

Outside of not including Q, Moneypenny, "shaken, not stirred", and having the gun barrel show up as the very first thing (though its understandable as it was a reboot), Casino Royale was pretty much a perfect Bond film. Bond was finally back to being the cynical asshole that he usually is. We only saw glimps of this with Brosnan (though I do think he did a good job as Bond) and Dalton and Connery kept true to it, but Moore and Lazenby didn't at all. The film's villain is believable (outside of the weeping blood, but at least that's better than having metallic teeth), the women had a purpose instead of just being thrown into the plot for no reason other than T&A, the action was forceful and gritty, so on and so forth.

So while I won't be voting, as its not fair for Brokeback, I urge everyone else to vote for Casino Royale.

I like Brokeback more than Royale so I have to vote for it. Brokeback Mountain is beautifuly written regardless that it's two males. The acting is what really does it for me. Heath Ledger & Michelle Williams were both excellent and so convincing is was amazing. Jake Gylenhal who I find wooden in alot of his films(Jar Head)I found quite enjoyable. Even Anne Hatheway plays a part. Also the camera work and the beautiful scenery(filmed in Canada) make the film that much better. Casino was really good, but I found Daniel Craig to be less then amazing as Bond.

I loved Brokeback Mountain. It was a great story. With great acting, story, and cast this movie is awesome. Just because its about two men does not make it a bad film, instead to me anyways it turned out to be on of the best of the decade.

Casino Royale is shit, maybe its because I hate James Bond films, but I just cant seem to get the hype. Not good at all.

Brokeback Mountain easily.

Casino Royale. When you stop and think how successful a film franchise can be after what, 20 movies? That it can still be culturally relevant says a whole lot. Deep down, Bond movies aren't about the gadgets or the girls, its an action movie. Casino Royale delivered on that aspect, bigtime. It was a very fun movie to watch.

Brokeback Mountain was so boring I feel asleep during it. It was so boring. I didn't like it one bit. The only thing I give it credit for is trying to break homosexuality into the norm. Casino Royale isn't one of the best Bond movies. Daniel Craig just looks too dead for me. But ill go with Bond in this one. It was a decent storyline, and perfect to be released, in the world where poker has become a sport it seems. Good action throughout. Hope it doesn't have to face a better bond movie in the tourny.

Brokeback Mountain is just about two men having sex up a hill. Great film, but it's not as ridiculously entertaining as Casino Royale. I honestly think that'll it'll go down as one of the great Bond films in a few years time. I know that's not hard. If anything Casino Royal shows the impact that the first Bourne film had on cinema.

I'm glad someone said it. Brokeback Mountain is good but, for one, you can't understand a word Heath Ledger says "rassum fassum queet yoo" and, for two, it's just not incredibly entertaining.

I'm a big fan of Casino Royale, that's for sure. But BM is way overrated because of the gay men. If it was between a man and a woman (because it apparently doesn't matter) nobody would think it was nearly as good.

If you turned Bond gay though... people's heads would explode.
