Just read a thing on the main site about Brian Danielson wrestling a dark match before Raw. Im not taking this too seriously, but when I heard this story, I actually stepped back and thoguht wow. If he was given the ball and told to run with it, he would drag the WWE out of its slump and have stellar matches with guys like Y2J to Cm Punk and even the usual names like Cena.
its just a matter of if the WWe are willing to let him do what he does best, which is having whitehot matches

This suprised me. Danielson is one of the biggest names in ROH right now, and for him to have a seemingly random tryout on Raw is just odd. I don't know much about him, but if what I've been told is any indication, he could be a great asset to the company. My worry is that if he's a smaller guy, his talent will be wasted in WWE. For the most part, indy guys don't thrive in WWE. That may be due to Vince, but i don't know that for sure. Either way, I'm intrigued by it, because it could turn into something interesting.

As Klunder said, Indy guys, or anyone who has made a name outside of the WWE (RVD, Booker, Vader etc), are always held back a little more than vince's creations. I think Vince has an ego problem such that he can't bring himself to believe that someone can build a reputation for himself outside of being created in the WWE. Danielson will probably get held up for not doing what he's told and wanting more control, because he's a big indy name and this pisses creative off, sort of the way CM Punk does.
If he goes it could be interesting, but probably end up doing very little for ages.

What Polley says is true. It seems to me a lot of the problems indy guys have is how limited their movesets are made. Look at Punk for example. If you watch some of his indy matches, you see a guy with an entertaining moveset. Things like various kicks, strikes etc, and he finishes with the Vice or the Pepsi Plunge. The Plunge is a pedigree from the middle rope, and the Vice is a sweet submission hold. Now we get the GTS, which I'm rarely impressed with. People talk about Punk being bland, but it's the way he's being booked. He has the skill and talent, as we've seen from his ROH days, but he seems to be being told not to work his usual style. If this happens to Danielson, it's a waste of talent by Vince.

I don't think that anybody should be getting too overly excited about this as Danielson used to be a regular on Velocity and has received alot of looks from the WWE without them signing him. Also, WWE has a way of underutilizing wrestlers who were indy stars. Just look at how much they have watered down CM Punk in the current product. Safety is a big issue in WWE and alot of the moves that guys do on the indy scene that look sick or amazing look pretty awful after they have been "sanitized" in the WWE. So I wouldn't take this with too much stock until you hear about him getting signed to developmental. Then, unfortunately, is where he decline will begin.

They've always done that. Look at London sure. What is his finisher? 450 splash and shooting star both got banned. The thing is WWE don't care about the flashy moves, they just want moves people recognise and will pop to. I'm sure Jeff Hardy knows more moves than WITW and Swanton, but those are the two he gets pops for, so they get used the most.

I know that the dark matches are kinda like house shows and the results aren't as important as the televised matches but correct me if I have been miss informed, did bryan get the win over cade? Cade the same wrestler that they were grooming for a singles push. Why not give him the win unless they have plans for danielson..

This isn't the first time that Danielson has wrestled for the WWE, so you can't really read to much into it, however they did give him the pin over Cade during a dark match so that may be somehthing to get excited about..possibly. And as stated they seem to be grooming Cade for a singles push.
What some people forget is that Danielson was trained by both HBK and Regal (also trained with Cade) and is reaching 30, so the prospect of some job security must tempting for him. He's an adaptable, techinically sound wrestler, and although he's under 6ft, so was Benoit and he did pretty well...kinda. The thing is, he's much better on the mic and can work a crowd. He also has a MMA style, which I can imagine Shane would love to incorperate, since he was such a hard-on for the sport. Agreed, London and Kendrik have been so mishandled its unbelievable, but CM Punk has done well despite having to adapt his style slightly and Matt Sydals debut was handled very well and looks very promising despite a name. But as has been stated Vince likes to create his own superstars. I even heard a rumour he broke out his Shooting Sydal Press at a tapping. The treatment of Colt Cabana give us a good idea of the WWE's future handling of established indy talent. |

This won't lead to anything. Danielson neither has the look, or the wrestling style for WWE. He'd bore the fans to tears with his matches, and he's get no fan support because of his look. He's a more muscular (If you can call him that) Colin Delaney. The face is almost exactly the same. Yet Delaney would probably be more over. Danielson wrestlers long, technical matches. WWE fans wouldn't like him one bit. He was probably just in the area, and thought it would be a nice oppertunity to meet up with London & Kendrick.
