Default Big Show and Floyd Mayweather

Wow, what a return and a surprise.

Number one, Show looked GREAT. He's lost a lot of weight, and dare I say, he looks as good as he did when he was The Giant. His return promo and attack on Mysterio pretty much showed that he's going to be a main event player, and him being a heel can only add to the star power he's going to add to the roster.

Then, in a completely shocking development, Floyd Mayweather came out of nowhere and socked Show three times, legitimately breaking his nose (per another website). A lot of fanfare immediately came out of this, as people weren't sure if this was a work or a shoot.

WWE has done a damn good job controlling the leaks lately, giving us some surprise moments (Cena, Show's return, and now this Mayweather program).

Where do you think the feud goes from here to Wrestlemania? Show's been training to box, do we have a Show/Mayweather boxing match? Wrestler vs. Boxer? Mayweather manages a wrestler against Big Show?

Either way, this hopefully gives WWE some much-needed exposure.

Default Big Show's Return

Quote:
At Sunday's WWE No Way Out PPV there was an angle involving The Big Show and boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. This was a work but appeared very real as Big Show took some very stiff shots. They wanted to make this look as real as possible and did a hell of a job in doing so. I expect this to lead to something between and two at 'Mania and look for lots of media on it tomorrow. Here is a recap of what went down taken from our No Way Out report:

The Big Show's music hits and he makes his way out to the ring. He shows off his newly trim body in a suit and says, "Guess who is back!" Big Show said he missed WWE and promises to become champion once again. He said it doesn't matter if it is Raw, Smackdown or ECW. Show said a lot of people make promises, but he has already been champion of Raw, Smackdown and ECW. He said it is only a matter of time before he becomes champion again. Show talks about losing over 100 pounds and that he is now faster, meaner and ready to be back in the WWE. Show notices an injured Rey Mysterio at ringside and grabs him. He starts slapping his bad arm and then looks over at Floyd Mayweather Jr. asking if he wants to do some. Mayweather shakes his head as Big Show throws Mysterio back in the ring. Show teases giving Mysterio a chokeslam. Show lifts Mysterio up and Mayweather jumps into the ring. Mayweather gets in Show's face and Mayweather's team hit the ring to hold him back. Show takes off his jacket and Mayweather is let go. They stare each other down as Show smiles. Show pushes Mayweather away. Show then gets down on one knee mocking Mayweather. Mayweather then walks forward and punches Big Show a few times. Mayweather then takes off with his team over the guard railing into the crowd. Shane McMahon runs out and holds Big Show back. Big Show's nose is busted open and he spits blood out. Show's nose looks legit messed up as Shane calms him down. Show backs up and leaves up the ramp with Shane. He smiles at the crowd with his nose and mouth covered in blood. They show a few replays and Mayweather caught Big Show with some legit hooks. This was done incredibly well and came across great.
So, does anyone else get the feeling that the Big Show's return was a colossal disappointment? I mean, they didn't want him to return in the Royal Rumble as "just another entry" so instead, they have him return to threaten an already injured Rey Mysterio.. and then start what looks to be a feud going into Wrestlemania, with a boxer thats roughly the same size as Rey Mysterio.

Honestly, I get that he doesn't deserve a lot because of his attitude upon leaving, and his backhanded nature of suddenly "missing the business." But come on, hasn't the W.W.E. learned from the Brawl for All contests that this just doesn't need to be a cross over.

What is everyone's opinion on Big Show's return, his possible boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr., and anything else related to your overall opinion on Big Show's return to the W.W.E.

I actually enjoy Big Show in a "David Vs. Golliath" type of role. I think it brings out how great he can be as a heel because IMO, Big Show as a face never really seems to get over well enough with fans. I like the mean streak and ruthlessness he displays as a heel is fun. Also, good angle by WWE with bringing in Floyd Mayweather as a surpise. This is sure to get WWE a buch of exposure on Sportscenter and kinds of media outlets as we get closer to Wrestlemania.

OMG I loved that angle. I could tell his nose was broken when he walked up the ramp. Mayweather clocked him! I wasn't sure if it was a work or real till I looked here. Amazing devotion to agree to let one of the best Pound for Pound fighters in the world take free shots at your face. The highlight of the night for sure! I don't really know how you can't be excited about what may happen after seeing that.

I thought it was a great angle that was very well done. I'm very curious to see where they are going to take this from here. Show's return = HUGE success to me!

It was brilliant!
When he was winding Mayweather up, I was just praying that Mayweather would jump the rails, but never expected it, and then he just fucking-well did it!!
But when he smacked him as well! Oh my god, what a fantastic, brilliant angle. I mean, being an avid follower of British boxing, I didn't exactly hold Mayweather in the highest regard, and was hoping Ricky Hatton battered him. I kind of got more respect for him after that fight, and now, how unbelievable he can be as the hero!

This is the sign of something big if done right. They did it brilliantly last night, but let's hope it doesn't turn into a Kane v Kane flop of a story!

Well to me it was fckin awesome! lol unexpected, completely outta nowhere! and the Mayweather angle unexpected, outta nowhere aswell. The punches seemed soo real, not sure if they were.... i honestly hope they weren't for the good of Mayweather or Show might *accidently* get Mayweather with a shot to the face next time they meet lol. But anyway all in all it really caught me off guard, surprise angle was deffinetely there and its good to see it back in the WWE. Expect much more good things to happen and often now!

The WWE is on the rise again folks, you betta believe 'dat!.

We were all expecting the Big Show to return sooner or later, and I pretty much expected it to be tonight, but what a return it was.

Good thing he is going to be heel, much better that way.

The angle with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (And Mysterio) was so well done, I was jumping out of my comfy sofa, cheering Mayweather on to attack the Big Show. Damn those punches HAD to hurt!

The Big Show looked seriously pissed off, and no wonder, a broken nose and a f***** up mouth? Hell, id be angry.

Well done to the WWE, Big Show, Mayweather Jr. and Mysterio for this angle.

Can't wait to tune into SmackDown! this week. Thats the first time ive said that for a LONG time.

(BTW, Big Show looks amazing. Well done to him for loosing all that weight)

I'm happy that big show cames back, the guy looks great and the fact that he's going to be a heel makes me happy. The problem is that is first feud will be against a celebrity and that bugs me because instead of having him make an impact against a major star, they are going to make him lose to a celebrity.

Another things is that if the same thing would have happen in TNA instead of WWE, everybody would have been against it but because it's the WWE it's o.k

So for what it'S worth i think it's was a dissapointing return and i hope that Big show doesn'T get lose in the shuffle.

Seems like itll be an awesome angle, the segment last night was really well done.
The only thing which might let it down is that Floyds a natural heel. Hes a cocky, arrogant, whiny prick...the boxing version of M.V.P. People boo him because they want to see the babyface style boxers like De La Hoya and Hatton knock his block off.....I can somehow see Big Show getting a babyface reaction despite the fact hes meant to be a heel.

Mayweather would have been better as the heel imo...maybe come into the ring like he was gonna attack Big Show but punch Rey instead...

That was one hell of a re-debut. And those stiff punches didn't make Big Show look weak, on the contrary he came off bad ass as hell. He immediately rebounded and looked like he was legit chasing mayweather and his whole crew who also all seemed legit scared.

I hope Show and Mayweather have an actual unscripted boxing match at Mania, and I hope Show pounds Meathweather into dust.
