Brian in Austin is looking to come up from OCW...
Default TNA Pulls Plug on Chyna if XXX DVD Hits Shelves

Well TMZ is reporting that Joanie "Chyna" Laurer has been informed by TNA officials that if her latest porn film hits shelves, that any potential long term deal is off the table.

http://www.tmz.com/2011/06/02/chyna-...ontract-vivid/

I guess it was a big deal to TNA after all.

Wrestling superstar Chyna tells TMZ ... she has been told point blank that if her new XXX porn tape is actually released, she will never be allowed to work for TNA Wrestling ever again.

It's a big deal for Chyna -- because she had recently been in talks with the wrestling organization about working out a long term deal ... and before the XXX tape came into the picture, things were looking optimistic.

But now, with the hardcore tape set to be released later this month, Chyna tells us she got a call from TNA honchos warning her that if she lets the tape hit shelves ... the deal is off for good.

Chyna tells us, "The whole thing has been constant drama ... it's all good in the end ... [TNA Wrestling] is missing the boat."

She adds, "FREEDOOOM!"

So far, no word from TNA.

Yeah, well atleast she's not in TNA anymore, I don't really think she was gonna last in TNA anyway. Especially with this kind of stuff and her drug history, she would've been more of a liability than Jeff Hardy.

And besides, they don't want a pornstar, but a few junkie's where one's going to be thrown in prison, that's ok. I'm not standing up for Chyna by any mean's, but making this company look stupid.

Sometime's with this company that find's new way's no not make sense.

Impact Wrestling's loss. If TNA can keep someone like Jeff Hardy around and give him numerous chances I don't understand what's so bad about keeping Chyna around. If they just don't mention the fact that she's in porn, then why not keep her around. She's not the main focus, she isn't TNA's top draw like Hardy was, what's the problem? In my opinion, Impact Wrestling didn't really need her all that much. The chances of Chyna actually climing back in the ring full time and putting on an even somewhat decent match was highly unlikely. Obviously, Chyna knows she doesn't need TNA. And if TNA gave up on her over something as simple as this, they didn't need her. Not a big deal at all.

Good for everyone involved, I guess. First off, her porn has already been released online so it has for all intents and purposes "hit the shelves" already. Speaking of which, how behind the times are TNA? They don't even release porn on VHS anymore, just like they don't release ANYTHING on VHS anymore, it's a dead medium.

Anyways, like I was saying, good for everyone involved. TNA most certainly does not need her and she would add nothing to their company really that they couldn't find elsewhere for cheaper and not have as much drama. Chyna doesn't need TNA either, honestly she'll probably make more money off the porn than she would in TNA since that company doesn't pay jackshit in general to their female wrestlers. Whether this is a good career move because of morals or ethics or whatever is another discussion, but financially speaking, it's probably better for Chyna this way.

No skin off my nose. She looked sloppy during her one appearance at the PPV and I have no interest in seeing her in a ring again if she isn't going to take it seriously.

Simple answer- Jeff Hardy's a bigger star than Chyna. Justice is not equal in professional wrestling; the big stars get breaks, because they put asses in seats. Female wrestlers that haven't been seen in almost a decade get scraps.

I'd actually be surprised if TNA/IW would keep themselves from a deal with Chyna over pornography. They haven't struck me as an organization with high moral scruples; this is an organization that had a wrestler smack a woman on PPV after SpikeTV told them they couldn't do it on cable. It sounds like free publicity to me.

But no big loss, really. Chyna is yesterday's news. She couldn't do anything for TNA/IW that they don't have the people for already.

Wow guys. I have to say I'm a bit surprised at the reaction to this news when compared to my initial thread about how I felt like this whole issue was bad for TNA. With that thread, people said it was no big deal and had no impact on TNA at all.

Now some of you are throwing her (Chyna) under the bus as quickly as possible.

Maybe it's not the same folks as those who were quick to say it was no big deal, but it's just interesting how quickly minds are changed once TNA management actually speaks out on an issue like this one and the Foley twittergate.

I don't personally find it to be a big deal that she's in porno, but I can definitely see why TNA/IW would be very heavy-handed about this.

They absolutely don't need that kind of publicity, when they are trying to grow their brand. It's been mentioned that they are hypocrits for allowing Jeff Hardy to stay, but one point has already been mentioned: he puts asses in seats. The other big thing, which we can't be sure of, is if there is no exit clause in his contract, should he get caught using drugs, then they have to pay him regardless. Might as well get something for that money.

Simple answer: Jeff Hardy place not only himself but other performers in danger of serious injury by his drug addiction. Repeatedly. As well as being arrested for intent to sell.

Chyna did a porn.

I'd take Chyna anyday. A little embarrassing, but better than placing themselves legally liable for an injury and getting sued to the moon for allowing a known drug addict to perform.

I honestly feel bad for her. I think that she had a rough life and the WWE finally made her feel like "somebody", she got money, fame, and when the Playboy magazine came out it made her feel feminine something she obviously had personal issues with her whole life, since she had a lot of plastic surgery around that time as well.

However after being let go of by WWE I think she experienced extreme lows, because of HHH's situation with Stephanie she was basically blacklisted by WWE, I think she became severely depressed, and sought attention wherever she could find it on reality TV. When nothing was really working for her became addicted to drugs, and her life started spiraling. This really isn't uncommon for a lot of wrestlers from that time period.

I don't know what the circumstances involving "1 Night in China" being released were, but I really don't believe she ever intended that to come out. Once it did though, and got attention, I think that's deadly for someone like her. It's like when a bully becomes popular by making fun of someone, so they keep doing it. The success of that movie was negative reinforcement for her.

What she really needed was help. She needed rehab, she should be in the WWE hall of fame, she could have been a trainer for future women's wrestlers. I think as she grew more desperate for attention (and possibly money with her drug habit) she did this new movie, and then TNA out of the blue made her the offer to offset Kharma's WWE arrival. So Chyna lied about making the video so she could work the initial TNA show, so everyone could see that she's "still got it". Fast forward to the clip being released now, and it makes her look like a liar. Obviously TNA doesn't want negative publicity, and for all you who keep mentioning Jeff Hardy, he isn't back yet is he? So in a desperate attempt to save face, she gave them the cliche "your loss", but I really think this could have been a great thing to help start to give her purpose and get her back in a positive direction, and I feel really bad for her that she feels this is the best she is capable of now.

I know a lot of people that have only started watching wrestling recently may not remember this but there was a time when she was a mega star and a really positive influence to young girls everywhere, and I think it's really sad to see things turn out this way for her. I just hope she gets the help she needs before it's too late.

Since when does putting other performers in danger exclude you from a job in professional wrestling? Goldberg was huge, but was practically famous for injuring his partners. Rick and Scott Stiener have left a wake of injured professional wrestlers behind them.

There are two things that really matter in professional wrestling, and they're closely, if not completely related- how many asses you put in seats, and how much the power players in back like you.

I also do not believe there has yet been a successful case where a performer has sued either another performer or the organization they worked for for an injury that occurred on the job. Daffney's trying, but truth be it told she's a long shot. Anyone that tried to sue would have to be permanently crippled, because no wrestling organization would ever hire someone who tried to sue a company for what's considered part of the risk of being a professional wrestler.

Let's face it, a wrestling ring is not exactly an OSHA approved workplace.
