I'm not entirely convinced... he has a 2 year stint from 1997-99, and to be honest there are so many guys who had much longer careers, and more noteworthy matches, fueds and careers that are more deserving than Ken.

I think great things were expected from Ken when he first signed... he was thrown into the Bret Hart vs Austin fued, which was the most high profile fued the WWE had at the time... and he started off fine as he worked up the card.
However Ken maybe didn't have the charsima and verbal skills that took off with the Attitude era... compare him to Rock, Austin, Foley? Ken was serious and sinister rather than bouncy and funny.

Ken had his moments, don't get me wrong.... but there are dozens more eligible than him for HOF at this moment. A couple of fairly decent years doesn't compare with a long pro career.

Ken Shamrock is NOT a hall of famer. Not close.

I really do appreciate Ken Shamrock. His intensity was legendary in the ring, and for a guy with legit shootfighting experience, he acclimated quite well in WWE. That said:

1. He was never a major WWE draw. He benefitted in exposure from being around at a time when the WWE was unstoppable and the Attitude Era was all the rage.

2. He didn't have the tenure. A few years and then gone? Not gonna cut it.

3. Most of his major accomplishments were fairly forgettable. I mean, his Intercontinental Title reign was alright (and he did beat the Rock for the belt, didn't he?) but there was nothing remarkable about his title reigns. Even his King of the Ring victory was sort of blah.

Not while Vince has his panties in a wad and guys like Macho Man aren't in the hall of fame.

Shamrock was a minuscule actor in pro wrestling. Even Tank Abbott probably played a bigger role.

The biggest plus side to Shamrock (if I recall right), was that he had became a major draw with the original pre-Dana White UFC. After the UFC came under so much scrutiny from John McCain and others, the sport sort of went away and out of focus before Dana White and the Gracie Family got on board. During the period was when Shamrock entered the fray at the WWE.

What Shamrock did do well was by competing in the WWF, made the sport appear more legitimate and actually real since a reputable cage fighter was now in the fray. Remember, this was before that documentary came on the late 90's that exposed almost every thing done in the ring. So in that regard, Shamrock gave the WWF a big boost as a legitimate competition for a little longer.
