Default If RVD & Ryan Meet At Turning Point, Who Should Win?

I have a feeling that, before it's all said and done, RVD will defend the X Division Championshp at the upcoming Turning Point ppv against Joey Ryan. Due to Morgan's interference, Ryan currently holds a pinfall victory over RVD so I think a match between the two is all but guaranteed at this point. And, if so, who walks away with the title?

I'm not a big RVD fan but having somebody of his star power as X Division Champion, in my opinion, is something the X Division could certainly use right now. Joey Ryan is someone that's got potential and is interesting, though he hasn't been portrayed in a particularly strong light by TNA.

Personally, I think RVD should retain the title at Turning Point if a match happens. Ryan doesn't really have a ton of momentum going for him. He's also "brand new" to the TNA roster to losing to someone like RVD in a title match at a ppv isn't going to hurt him. Right now, I just don't see Ryan as someone that'd be a particularly strong champ. In the matches I've seen him wrestle the past little while, he's been dominated by his opponent only to sneak out a win after Matt Morgan's interfered to help.

If TNA does ultimately intend to put the title on Ryan, I'd like to see him built up as a stronger challenger rather than someone that's completely unable to win a match without the bigger, stronger Matt Morgan helping him to do so. The X Division has had enough lame, weak champions over the years so why add Ryan to the list, especially when there's no real need to at this point.

I'd like Joey Ryan to win it eventually but not yet. He is brand new and doesn't have name recognition so it would be pointless really. If they build him up slowly, that would be better.

RVD hasn't really done anything with the title as of yet, so to suddenly put it on someone new means you're back to square one. Make people care that RVD has the belt before changing it. I mean people cared Austin Aries had the belt even when his fueds weren't for the title. If they do something similar here it might work.

Making people care about the X-Division should be the focus and a long fued between RVD and Joey Ryan can accomplish that.

Keeping how I feel about Joey Ryan out of this...

Without a doubt I think this match is coming and without a doubt I think RVD should retain at Turning Point. I think RVD should get a nice long run with the X Division Championship he can do more for that division right now than anybody and for him to do that he needs to be the champ. RVD is a big name still in this business, Better off keeping the belt on him.

Honestly I still don't get what people see in Joey Ryan though. He really has done nothing to make me care about his ring work. I admit he can talk on the mic but that's about all he can do. Hoping we get a better strong heel (maybe Daniels?) going to the X Division to be the one to beat RVD down the road.

I agree with everyone else here. Joey Ryan should probably hold the belt down the line, but not now. I think someone like RVD is great for the X division right now, and that he should have a nice long run with the title. A loss to RVD will not hurt Joey Ryan, and right now I think RVD needs to be X division champion.

I dont see Joey Ryan getting the title just yet maybe at some point in time but not just yet he has a lot to improve on before getting a title yeah he may have matt morgan but if morgan were to get involved RVD would win by DQ plus i think hogan would restart the match if that happened

Im loving Ryan but RVD needs to retain. He has the name power to rebuild the division. He needs to be allowed to run with it a while.

Ryan will be plenty entertaining in his pursuit of trying to earn a shot at the title for a while yet while RVD holds down the fort with the belt. Joey, despite being new to the company, does not need the belt at the moment. He's got the mic work down, he's already pretty over, so he can go out there and cut his promos about how he's coming for the belt and deserves a shot at the belt and the man is keeping him down and blah blah blah for a while going over the Kash's of the world, there's good content to be milked out of that before you put the strap on him.
