Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the third thread in the vs. series, I'm your host, marsden88, and today we are going to pit two interesting competitors against each other.
Daniel Bryan vs Dolph Ziggler. Yes. Or no? But seriously... This is a hard question to answer. One is a former World Champion and current tag team champion, while the other holds the Money in the Bank and can be argued to be the top heel in the WWE right now. So who do you think wins this matchup? I'd say Dolph Ziggler, but not by much. By the way, WM 30. Book it. |

Daniel Bryan of course. Wherever he goes, he get himself over, everybody loves him, he is one of the most popular wrestler today, one of the best if you talk about mic-skill, in-ring ability, charisma or anything else, there is no way he could loses.
Dolph Ziggler is a great performer but that's all, it's not his fault, mostly because of the booking but for the moment, he didn't deliver something amazing

That feud could actually be pretty interesting considering the involvement of AJ. I think either could win the match and it would be justified. I think i would book Ziggler to go over, because he's so close to becoming that main event guy that you don't want to risk making him look weak. I think you have the typical distraction with Ziggler hitting his finisher from behind for the win.

I constantly enjoy watching both these guys. They're so smooth & skilled inside the ring that it's incredibly difficult for them to have a bad match. I've even seen Ziggler pull decent matches against the likes of The Great Khali in the past. Ziggler is someone that's worked really hard in WWE. He's come light years when you take into account that he was once a member of the Spirit Squad. Whether you're a fan of Ziggler or not, I don't think it can be denied that he's scratched, kicked & clawed for every inch of ground he's gained in WWE. I don't think anyone in wrestling right now, with the possible exception of Chris Jericho, does a better job in putting other wrestlers over while still coming out looking like a star himself. I also think that Ziggler sells better than anyone in wrestling today. I see Ziggler as someone that probably won't be the biggest star in WWE, but he'll be among the most reliable & consistent whenever WWE wants quality feuds & matches.
Bryan is one of those guys that people scoffed at or were immediately skeptical about when it was announced he'd signed with WWE. Bryan was a centerpiece of the first season of NXT for a while. Even though he was booked in the role of an underdog and lost most of his matches there, his in-ring ability was plain to see. The debut of Nexus on Raw shortly after the 1st season of NXT remains one of the best endings to any wrestling show I've seen in years. When Bryan was fired from WWE for "choking" Justin Roberts with his tie, I thought the internet was gonna blow up. I don't think I'd ever seen as much outrage for any wrestler being released as there was for Daniel Bryan. When he was rehired, Bryan spent about the next 13 months or so as mostly a standard babyface and had a good run as US Champion. He came out of nowhere in 2011 to win the SD! MITB match at the MITB ppv. When he finally cashed in & became WHC, people were genuinely shocked. What was more shocking, however, was that Bryan not only went onto have a meaningful & relevant reign as World Heavyweight Champion, but he went from being a pretty generic face to one of the most over heels on the WWE roster. He went from having a rather bland personality just before the start of his WHC run to having thousands of people in the palm of his hand by the end of it. If I had to pick one, I'd have to go with Daniel Bryan. Bryan has proven a number of critics wrong and is someone that most people would peg as the ultimate unlikely star in WWE. He's shown that he has a lot of personality & passion coupled with great in-ring ability. As I said in another post, I see Daniel Bryan as someone that'll be the next Chris Jericho. He won't be the biggest star in the company, but he'll attain a lot of success while being one of the most reliable on the roster.

My only issue thus far is that Ziggler has been pushed for how long now? Clearly a good athlete, does some amazing things but what is the reservation behind pulling the trigger on him? WWE clearly feels they need to hold back for some reason and I am not sure if it is stupidity or something he has done. It seems like they are really pushing that year limit on the briefcase though. Maybe just because Cena cashed in his quick.

I think Daniel Bryan, hes as good as ziggler in the ring and much better in character quality. He was the most entertaining guy for months in wwe in terms of promos and segments involving characters, which is amazing considering how average he was. In a feud he really would need the win more then ziggler D bry has yet to have a big ppv win where he really stands tall, He escaped from the cage in his first whc ppv match, ec he made santino tap , then he didn't win till he got a quick roll up on Kane, since then its just been tag teams stuff. He needs some credibility

Im gona go with Daniel Bryan. This guy is just rolling the ball with everything that is getting chucked at him and making it entertaining. Thats an entertainer for you.
Dont get me wrong, I like Ziggler. Big fan, but.. I just feel like he's missing something. I dont know what it is, but something with Dolph Just isnt clicking and I cant figure out what.

I definitely think Daniel Bryan has the edge right now. He's managed to develop himself a lot over the past year and a half and it's paid off tremendously. Ziggler is almost at that level, but we're still waiting for that explosive moment.

Both are great and have done terrifically over the last year or so. For me, Ziggler is just slightly better. I would say he has greater charisma and is better on putting on a show in the ring. Of course Bryan is the better wrestler but Ziggler is the better and selling as I'm sure everyone would agree.
Mic-work: Ziggler is improving and will be an all round superstar in a few years. Bryan has developed his gimmick tremendously and deserves credit for doing so. I love the YES YES/ NO NO chants and Bryan is showing he can be funny when he speaks. |
