In my opinion the show sucked. Had spent half the day trying to convince my friends that wrestling isn't as silly as they think it is. Kept telling them they just need to watch a whole show and try to get interested the stories. This backfired massively when we switched on the Christmas eve Raw to see fully grown men singing wrestling carols on the stage.

I'm not going to stop watching because of a Christmas special. I understand why they did it. But it was too over the top. I doubt the episode gained any new viewers. But it definitely lost some potential ones.

I find it funny people still don't get that there is a difference between a light hearted Christmas show and corny cheesy supidity, what even blows my mind more is how the same RAW show provided a perfect example of both.

Perfect example of a feel good Christmas syle show?
Dolph Ziggler with AJ giving him the MiTB briefcase, then removing the robe and showing his shirt, switching to see her read a parody of The Night Before Christmas until they end with a kiss under the mistle toe. It was funny light hearted fit the character perfectly without going overboard into cheesy stupidity.

Perfect example of cheesy stupidity?
ADR running over Santa with a car only to have damn near an entire locker room outside of where he is being tended to with doctors act like it's a horrific event that has killed Christmas and that Cena must defeated ADR "FOR SANTA!!!!"
It's way over the top, massively out of character for so many and in the end just stupid. I could say the same thing for the singing as well.

Sadly people will never understand that you can have a light hearted Christmas show that is entertaining for all ages without having to go into the completely corny cheesy garbage, which was exactly what the Christmas RAW was.

People also never understand that this is art. Art is judged by opinion. That was your opinion. I enjoyed both. I don't take myself too seriously. I thought the Santa thing was hilarious because of how ridiculous it was. Like Mae Young birthing a hand...or a midget.

Maybe convince your friends that wrestling is supposed to be an entertainment variety show that can have something light hearted and goofy during the fucking light hearted and goofy Christmas season (a fat man flying around the world on a sleigh pulled by deer, one with a glowing nose, come on) and can be as intense as HHH/Taker HIAC. Your friends can choke on a dick. I guarantee something they like has less entertainment "range" than pro wrestling.

I find it funny at just how pissed you are getting because a large number of people are turned off by a show that has grown men and women fighting and acting like they hate each other, decides to have all those men and women sing together and have a stupid Santa gets run over skit.

Tell me something if the SAW series released a movie on Christmas that had Jigsaw run over santa only to have Hoffman step up and fight him about it like it was life or death, and then have a sing along with him, would you be defending that to? No you would because it's a rediculious and stupid story that has no purpose in that kind of product. The same can be said for RAW.

This sentence is one of the dumbest things I have read on here. Hitting Santa is not even close to an attitude era angle, it is nothing more than another mere PG angle. And like the thread starter, I don't disagree with it completely, but too many scenes on it.

Unless they like Soap Opera's, even if what they prefer has less entertainment "range" which I don't think is their issue with it, I doubt their entertainment preferences (I guess Maury and shows like that are on this level too) use personnel with about the same degree of talent as porn stars. Some are better, but for the most part, none of these guys has more talent than porn stars.
