I can't believe how few votes there are for Foley winning the title.
This is coming from a HUGE Bret Hart and Benoit mark. But Benoit, Eddie, etc winning the belt is NOTHING compared to Foley winning the belt. He deserved it more than anyone. He was so over. It was unexpected/unorthodox/at the height of the Monday Night Wars.. It's impossible for anyone, even a hater of Foley, to not love or appreciate that moment. If not for Mick, than for it's historical significance in the Monday Night Wars. |

Good thread. A few came to mind that haven't been mentioned yet that are really special to me. I was a big ECW fan and followed it the best I could throughout the time I could actually see it on tv. When WWE brought up the One Night Stand PPV I was worried it would be just a joke of a reunion, I ended up buying the show and couldn't have been more happier with it. Apart from a few WWE moments the whole PPV left me in awe and felt so happy to have one last chance to see some real ECW matches.
They tried it again the next year but It wasn't the same until the ending which again was amazing. Rob Van Dam beating John Cena was monumental to me as an event that was years in the making. It was great seeing RVD as a world champion. The last thing I thought of was CM Punk winning the belt at MITB. I'm from Chicago and was a huge fan of ROH so seeing somebody that was so different from previous champions was really special to me. I just didn't think it could happen. I literally jumped up on my feet at that pinfall.

I picked Eddie's win at NWO in this poll. It was an amazing moment to see a Hispanic capture the title for the first time in years, and also the first Mexican WWE champ ever. Plus, Eddie was hella deserving. He truly is a one of a kind Hall of Famer. We lost him too soon. |
