Debut like Chris Jericho...agreed he was already famous in WCW before he debuted to WWF but we can have a debutant interfering a promo being made by a veteran like John Cena and then after a short/non-existent feud, go to mid-card. We can have someone debut directly in a match against some big name and he shows good ring chops in that match and loses in a great effort. We can have someone debut as a partner/friend of an existing wrestler. You can have someone get hired as a hired muscle for a heel GM or something like that. We can have someone debut as a part of audience...some wrestler tries to push a fan and that fan retaliates - he becomes a debutant. There are many many possibilities of for a debut. We can even have the same type of debuts as now...hype videos, debut in a match..but lose/win sometimes...doesn't have to be against Yoshi Tatsu/Tyson Kid all the time.

I'd love to see someone like Dean Ambrose or Seth Rollins debut like Desmond Wolfe did in TNA. Study and learn every move of a top star and instantly go after him. He did that with Kurt Angle, and I think Dean could do that on Raw to maybe Sheamus, or Christian possibly.

Not every debut can be huge, but they could do some debuts different like I think that if Mason Ryan didn't suck, his debut would be talked about more, as his debut was great, and got him noticed immediately.

I've been thinking a lot about that too, and how much I think about it, I realize that this type of debut really hurts a guy. Damien Sandow and Ryback are probably the guys that could go on into something, but even Sandow, what are we going to say about him in the future? Oh he debuted just for the sake of it... They need stories to debut a guy, i'm tired of that old vignette hyping a debut, I would rather watch some story with a debut. If WWE makes Brad Maddox a wrestler I will say that his debut was very very cool.
At NXT I would love to debut Richie Steamboat on Raw, however I would let him grow a beard like he had in the past and debut him in a backstage segment with Vickie Guerrero or other General Manager of some sorts, but I would be right down with it. GM would say that he's happy by having a son of such legendary man like Ricky Steamboat and offer him a contract. Richie would be a guy in a suit, and heavily happy about his heritage and would brag about being a second generation star to anybody. I would make him win his first match, a way to prove that he is better than what his father was. His first big rivalry would have to be against a face Tyson Kidd. The history would be very good for the plot. Richie would interfere in one of Kidd's match and say that he hates people that lie like Kidd. Say that Kidd hangs around like he was one of the Hart Family members, when he isn't and just cost him a match and right down spit him in the face after hitting his finisher. It's a different way I guess... It would make him win some heat with something that personal from the beginning. Last edited by Nolan : 11-04-2012 at 01:41 PM. |
