I rarely watch entire ppv's, but I watch old individual matches on a daily basis. With a vast collection of footage on youtube and dailymotion as well I like to follow a wrestlers career beginning to end watching all their biggest matches in order.
The Randy Savage 3 part series is great, just finished that. I also recently watched every WWE title change, and then went through WCW.

I have a good amount of VHS tapes of stuff that I've bought or taped from Pay-Per-View orders. I ordered quite a few over the years or copied tapes from friends that bought it.
If I go looking for downloads of older Attitude Era shows, I try to find original footage versions pre-WWE branding. The "F" blurring pisses me off to no end and detracts from the experience. For any DVD's I buy, I like to get collections of early WWF or non-WWF stuff like the Starrcade and AWA documentaries that come with matches. Single matches is what I'm getting at. There's usually matches I like from shows that weren't overall great or I just had less interest in. - Starrcade '83 wasn't on PPV but that's one I like to watch for the Piper/Valentine Dog Collar match. - WrestleMania X for the HBK/Razor Ladder Match (was actually at SummerSlam '95 for their second one, it wasn't as spectacular even in person). - WrestleMania 13 for the Hart/Austin match, I love that one. It was brutal as hell. - King of the Ring '98 for the HIAC match with Taker/Mankind. I was at that one too, sitting at a direct angle to Foley's huge bump from the top.

I prefer Summerslam 1992 over any. I must have watched Bret/Bulldog 50x. This match should be a requirement for pro wrestlers to watch. Old school survivor series were the best too. Any WM ill watch once in awhile. Last edited by HBKperfect23 : 03-15-2013 at 09:59 PM. |

Watching Survivor Series 1989 right now for the first time in almost two decades. Barely remember it. The promo's to start were great. About 30 wrestlers with one line each saying what they were thankful for. Rick Rude was thankful for his Ravishing good looks etc..
Love this time period. Warrior has the IC belt and Hogan has the championship belt he won from Macho Man who is now full out heel mode. Honky Tonk, The model, Bad News Brown, and Boss man vs Brutus, Tito, Rooster and Dusty Rhodes. Probably one of the worst matches on the card but sure to be entertaining as hell! Quality is a little blurry on this version I got but it is just barely worse than VHS. HAHA Rooster is doin a little Rooster dance on the ring apron before the match even starts. Damn I didn't know he was so funny. Pretty sure I am going for the Heels here with Slick and Jimmy Hart as the managers. Too great. The Chicago crowd is freaking great during this first match as well. Last edited by Moneyinc : 03-16-2013 at 02:55 AM. |
