Leaning towards Beth but gonna have to see the arguments made for Toyota to decide.

This match should be Manami's all the way. Why should the most popular and best women's wrestler from Japan lose to someone that wasn't even the best in her era, let alone company? Beth was a big fish in a small pond that got even smaller as her career went on. She didn't draw money, and nobody had cared about her since she retired.

Shows featuring Toyota in the main event have drawn upwards of 40,000+ people. Most of the men from today's WWE can't boast that kind of drawing power. Beth Phoenix wouldn't draw that much even with WWE's multi-million dollar corporate machine backing her.

Manami has had far more classic matches with a larger variety of people, held many more titles, and had title reigns that actually mattered. Not mention she's fought and beaten a variety of big, scary monsters in her time so Beth's strength wouldn't be an issue. I can go deeper into why she would wipe the floor with Phoenix, but I shouldn't have to, because it should be clear to anyone having done even a rudimentary amount of research that she should win.

Manami incapacitates Beth after a Victory Star Drop... this fucking big ass move...

...from the ladder, which allows her to climb to top to victory.

Vote Manami.

First, Beth did not have the longevity to even be a serious factor in a matchup with Toyota. Also the level of the Divas division late in Beth's run does her no favors, while Manami has competed with the best competition of maybe any in the sport's history.

Manami, though sporting a smaller frame in her prime, would give Beth a run for her money physically, with a brand of athleticism featuring speed and uncanny strength for her size that makes her quite different from the competition that Beth faced in the WWE.

Manami has defeated monsters much bigger, scarier, more experienced, and more decorated that Beth Pheonix. And she often did it in long violent wars of matches that would better prepare her for the ladder match atmosphere than any battles Beth is a veteran of.

Also Toyota's run from '92 through '96 alone(including being 1995's most oustanding wrestler, even beating out every male counterpart on the planet) drastically trumps Beth's career, even without factoring in that she has been a dominant figure for roughly a quarter century.

This was a good run by Pheonix, but she has clearly met her match as this should be Toyota's vote by a wide margin.

Poor Beth Phoenix, had she been treated better she might have had a better chance in this match-up. As it was, she was only marginally better treated than Natalya and I can understand her quitting the business because of this... unfortunately, I can't use this as an excuse against Manami.

A 27 year career with 1922 recorded bouts and a win record of 60% eclipses poor Beth's 12 years amounting 709 matches and 53%... especially as her most dominant year was 2011, hardly a banner year for the Divas AND if you take that year out of the equation, she'd actually have a career win record sub 50:50. Manami hasn't had a losing record year since 1991!
