Sable was super-over with the fans in 1998-99, but once they started pushing her, she became an egomaniac. Luna Vachon and others have talked about how Sable refused to job, refused to learn how to wrestle or even take bumps - but still expected everyone to kiss her ass and make her look good.
I remember watching her in action at WrestleMania 14 - she and Marc Mero took on Goldust and Luna Vachon. No matter how much Luna sold her moves or acted afraid of her, I never bought it that Sable was ever any good as in the ring. Yeah, she was hot as hell, but she was a cancer to the WWF women's division and they were better off once she was gone. |

She definitely provided some memorable moments. The painted on hand prints, the potato sack, Sable bombing Marc Mero. When I think back to the attitude era she is someone I think of. I remember seeing a lot of Sable signs in the crowd like "I like the "B" in Sable. I was always more of a Sunny fan but I think Sable made a bigger impact. So yeah, she had her moments.

Man Sable is getting way too little credit in this thread.
Sable was huge in 1998 which was in fact when the Internet started booming. She was all over Raw and she was actually a big reason that I, a devoted WCW fan at the time, would click over to Raw. I wanted to see Sable. I was an adolescent and Sable was the greatest thing I'd ever seen. Sable moved merchandise and was involved in high profile feuds. Feuding with her was a basically like being in the main event because you were guaranteed significant time on every show. If you recall, Undertaker even called her McMahon's "Meal ticket" in a segment on Raw where he was threatening Vince by choking Sable. Yes this was scripted, but it was based on reality. Sable made A LOT of money for the WWF. Sunny was better looking by far, but Sable had an insane level of sex appeal that does something very unique to men. Edit: The Attitude Era was about Austin, McMahon, The Rock, DX, The Undertaker and Sable. Those were the focal points of the show and all the other characters who were relevant became that way by cycling through programs with the people on this list. I definitely think Sable was a very important part of the Attitude Era.
She was incredibly hot, and apart from possibly Sunny, nothing like the women the WWE had previously had on the roster. She drew in alot of fans, especially adolescent males who fancied the pants off her and her appearance in Playboy got alot of publicity for the company, as it was the first WWE Diva to pose nude. She wasn't that bad in the ring either, it was impressive that she could actually nail a Sable Bomb on Mark Mero, and it was a shame she didn't stay with the company longer than she did, but I have read that she had a bad backstage attitude. It was great to see her return for a run in the 2000s, she was still hot then. Brock Lesnar is living the dream. No doubt he was a young guy back in the late 1990s, staring at this hot woman on his tv...then he ends up marrying her. Fair play Brock lad!
