So apparently his health is just fine. I dont think it would kill him to work out a bit though. His physique has gone downhill since 2005 and if anything thats what seems to be contributing to his slowed in ring pace and wrestling one match per year. Taker is 47, just 4 years older than Triple H, and 7 years older than The Rock, who both look like they're still chiseled out of stone.

It's definitely a good sign. I hope to see him on RAW tmrw. If the don't use him at WM I won't be disappointed. I have watched him for half of his streak and 20 years straight at WM is an accomplishment. He deserves the time off.
However...I don't care who he fights, it's always a pleasure to see him wrestle and is a WM seller for me. If he wrestles I'll get it (if money allows).

Notice that he returned in Texas, I believe, if I'm wrong, sorry, but if so, it isn't so surprising. He is from there, and so it would be believable if he lived there, which I'm sure he does anyway. Regardless, WWE probably wanted him to come back untelevised so that he could show how well he is still going in the ring. The WWE wouldn't want him back for WrestleMania 29 if he isn't up to it. This match will show how well he is doing after all the surgeries this year.
If he is back for WrestleMania 29, which is probable, I look forward to it. CM Punk vs John Cena on Monday Night Raw will surely mark the return of the Undertaker, if the reports are true and 'Taker wants CM Punk at WrestleMania 29. If he doesn't appear, it is unlikely he won't be back until WrestleMania XXX.

As for Undertaker wrestling, it was depressing seeming him last year with that ridiculous haircut and seeing the pictures of him with the pot belly really makes me hope he A) calls it a career or B) waits a year and finishes his career at WM 30. Gives him time to heal up, get in good shape, and wrestle one last great match against whomever he chooses. I'm all-in for that. He was always "the dead man" or this fierce, scary guy. If he's waddling to the ring with a bad hip and a pot belly, that takes away from it. Just look at Hulk Hogan and how that just fell apart. |

I hope we see Punk vs Taker. I looks as if Vince wants "Once In A Lifetime... Again", so Punk needs a big match, 'Taker and The Streak is that match. Let's be honest, if you're not competing for a World Title at WrestleMania then the most prestigious match you can get is against The Deadman. And if reports are true and 'Taker does pick his own opponent for WrestleMania, then what an honour for Punk. It shows that 'Taker sees something in him and Punk can get over without winning against 'Taker.
They can have Punk take 'Taker to the limit, have 'Taker win but show Punk some respect after the match (I noticed at Elimination Chamber that the commentators kept mentioning Punk's quest for respect). But Punk gets a major rub and he can move forward from there. |

A lot think it's going to set up a Punk vs Taker match. I don't think Punk has the starpower of HBK or HHH to fight Taker on the biggest stage of Wrestlemania.
Granted Punk is Amazing in the ring, on the mic, and the 400 odd reign did him a whole lot of good. He just lacks that little something to create that Wrestlemania moment he needs to compete in such a high profile match. I'd rather see Punk inserted into Rock/Cena 2. Will add something different from last years "once in a lifetime" Who will face Taker if Punk doesn't? If he is bad shape this time round, might be best he takes a year off, and comes back with a bang at WM30. Obviously everyone (including myself) would be pretty dissapointed not to see Taker this year. Hope he competes. Very interested to see what happens.

Well glad to see him, although he looks out of shape. Hopefully he can still put on a good performance because thats really what it's all about. He wasn't on Raw last night though, maybe they're having second thoughts? Lol I honestly think his absence was a good thing though, since many had already heard about his return I bet many were expecting him to be there, and since he wasn't WWE actually wrote a hell of a main event for once. Anyway, looking at Undertaker makes me wonder if he'll be able to pull a good match, which is a bad sign for me because the rest of the card looks really boring to me. Their top three grossing matches are EXTREMELY predictable, 99% sure it goes Cena/HHH/Taker.

Is there anything to back up the rumours tat I've read on WZ that 'Taker is very smooth in the ring and not stiff at all? If that's true, I can understand that wrestlers want to go up against him as an additional reason.
If they book Lesnar against the 'Taker from 2013, it'd be his last match for certain (because Brock is a stiff idiot). One last thing: Quote:

While Taker does not look to be in the best of shape at the moment, I'm sure if he does return at Mania you will still get a five star match. The only question left to answer is who does the Dead man face. The top choice would have to be Punk, But maybe a better idea would be having him tag with Orton and Sheamus to take on the Shield. Sure a lot of people will probably feel a little short changed at not seeing the Undertaker in a one on one match, But having him face the Shield will help get them over with the fans more then they are already win or loss and you still get the option of having punk face the Dead man at wrestlemania xxx with the streak still on the line.
