I love it. I might have seen it when he said that but didn't know what he was referencing at the time, as I sometimes watch the episodes out of order or skip parts. I have seen, I think, two of his monologues. I remember being confused when it happened during Aries/Roode's match. I have to admit, if they did it during his own match it would be hilarious to me. I also find them unintentionally funny, but at the same time, I think there's something to the idea that it helps him being able to give a promo without giving a promo, a traditional one, anyway. Even if I don't always like the results, I do like the different things they try. I remember reading a complaints thread about how they do the camera work/backstage promo for WWE, that the camera is right there when they're supposed to be saying/doing something private, and at the end they have the person stare at something and it pans off. I had forgotten that they do that. LOL And why bring up about him being high again? That was a long time ago and he paid for it, and obviously people won't forget it. Whenever someone brings that up it makes me think they haven't watched in a long time but they just latched onto the topic to berate him. Haven't been a Hardy fan since The Hardy Boyz and Lita, but still. He's made a complete character and that new style of promo is part of it. As a writer, I can see its merit, because I always get into the head of my character in order for people to understand them, especially if their actions are contrary to their thoughts, BUT they shouldn't do it during matches, though. No bueno. It would be random if they had a monologue for Aries talking to Hardy's monologue. That too would be hilarious. Or ONE short segment where they did it for everyone and their thoughts were totally unrelated. Stupid, but potentially amusing.

So basically what you morons are saying is that Jeff Hardy can't cut a promo his own way? I could've sworn wanted characters that were extensions of themselves on TV. I guess people around here are surprisingly out of loop then. Jeff Hardy's built his entire career on being weird. Shocker, he's doing something weird.

I am a Hardy fan because i loved his tag team work as a kid. I was about eight during when him and Matt were doing awesome things with Edge&Christian, the Dudleys, Gangrel, etc.
New ideas are great and I love that TNA tries them out, but if it sucks, drop it. Sadly, most of their innovative stuff (i.e. storylines) tends to suck. I think they really messed up the Hardy heel turn, since someone mentioned that. The weird promos were decent, but they could have made Hardy seem way creepier. Literally...a crazy, deranged, unpredictable man wreaking havoc on the roster. Should've had him sneaking up and ambushing wrestlers, doing odd things to win matches (throw the green mist out there for one match, making a mandible claw out of those weird arm things he wears). Have him injure someone in a weird, lunatic manner in a match...Hardy caters to the Cena crowd kind of as a star, but based on just how WEIRD he actually is as a person, he could actually pull off a really good heel, IMO. Think about creepy heels...the unpredictable factor plays a significant part in some and Hardy can play that one up well. I think it would have been a LOT easier to run promos with Hardy as this character, as silence plays more into the mystery of that sort of heel character. Tying him to Immortal was a mistake IMO. Could have had him then turn on Immortal and play a crazy solo tweener. As you can see, I've given this topic plenty of thought. I hate flat characters and Jeff Hardy is pretty flat at this point. |

I'm not going to try to turn this into a Jeff on drugs conversation but the general point I'm trying to make is he gets to do whatever he wants in TNA. Maybe its because hes a draw, maybe he sells merchandise, I don't know. But 99% of the stuff I've seen him do lately is just beyond ridiculous, in terms of promo work.
