Lost a lot of respect for Bret over the years, he seems intent on throwing EVERYONE not him under the bus... Davey was apparently messed up during the SS match? So the fuck what? He got through it and it still took both of you... he didn't screw up that anyone noticed bar you... so why mention it when he's gone? It makes Bret look at best disloyal to his friend and at worst bitter and taking credit.

Likewise with the Flair sabotage stuff, I can believe it, but it just doesn't need to be said at this point. A lot of weird stuff around Flair happened in that era, did he sabotage the Hulk matches too? no... probably not... but Vince probably wasn't clear in what he expected of Flair, and that translated to a guy who seemed pretty unsure of himself for being "the best in the world" in 1991-92...

To me, every time Bret opens his mouth about another wrestler these days he diminishes his own legacy 10 more points... it makes you actually wonder how much of his "Best there is..." rhetoric was actually bought by the fans only for Vince to realise around 97 it was actually "Hitman's New Clothes". A lot happened to make Bret who he is today, and it's hard to judge... but when he starts slating people who don't really deserve it, or who can't defend themselves then its hard to feel anything but contempt for the guy...

Yeah, Bret has become the most bitter guy in the world and I'm sure it all stems from Montreal, which I don't feel the least bit sorry for him about btw, and Owen of course. At some point he needs to let it go. He very rarely seems to have a good word to say about anything or anyone, besides himself of course. He even made it a point in these interviews I was watching to bring up the fact that Vince flew off the handle at Flair and Savage at a tv taping when they came backstage after their match, totally disastisfied and made them go out and redo the entire thing. Then when they came back the 2nd time, Vince was still pissed because they hadn't done anything they were told and this time just said, "F it!" I assume this is all true because I've heard a similar story from Scott Hall in the past. But yeah, idk why Bret ever came back to work with WWE because he is still clearly holding onto that grudge for dear life and it's made him pretty intolerable.

This is my favorite ppv of all time with my favorite match of all time. Everyone was there for Bret and Bulldog and the match delivered. I'd be fine keeping this ppv as is but I'll try and improve it while keeping it realistic.
Dark Matches:
The same 6 man
Tito vs Papa shango

Main Show:
Money Inc vs LOD for the tag titles. They were the two better teams. I'm still keeping this as the opener for the show.

Boss man vs Nailz Let nailz get a win before the nightstick match

Beverly Brothers vs Natraul Disasters same match, no titles

Shawn Michaels vs Ric Martel. Drop the no punching in the face gimmick. The build to this match was pretty good and I think they could have put on a good match.

Undertaker vs Kamala Casket Match. Keep as is

Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair. They never got a one on one match on a televised event in WWF. With Flair interjecting himself in the title storyline, Hogan comes in to call Flair out.

Repo Man vs Crush. Cool down match.

WWF title: Savage (c) vs Ultimate Warrior. Same match. Same storyline but with Hogan involved. Perfect comes out during the match without Flair.

Dark Match: Tatanka vs Bezerker

IC title: Bret vs Bulldog. Exactly the same

Flair in general was not in a good place that summer, either because of the legit injury or because of his attitude. In truth he'd pretty much decided by Summerslam he wanted out of the WWF for whatever reason (probably the negative reaction to his work at Wrestlemania from Vince, especially the blood) and I guess there must have been the sense from Vince that he'd "failed" as the new star they wanted.

This was perhaps though, the most turbulent time roster wise ever, where things were not in Vince's control... You had Warrior and Davey's controversies, Nailz nearly choking Vince to death, Flair being at best a disappointment and at worst a flake, Sid and Hogan bailing, Animal and Hennig's back injury and Kerry Von Erich's drug problems.

It's easy to see how the show ended up so disjointed in the end...
SummerSlam was nearly two months before Flair's injury & subsequent 5 week absence. Flair was injured on the house show circuit vs Ultimate Warrior in Phoenix. This was at the very beginning of Oct.

Flair told this story several times. Savage didnt want to wrestle, he wanted off the road, Vince wanted to milk one more PPV out of him (SummerSlam) which was to set up the Flair vs Warrior feud that was expected to carry WWE through the fall. Savage was told even after he lost the title he would have to honor committments for the European Tour and was asked to put over Hall (who allegedly he didnt like) in the US house show circuit, just prolonging his time off and making him miserable. Savage half @&#@$ the title loss and most of his house show matches with Hall. He did wrestle on the European Tour but WWE alternated him & Brett in title matches vs Flair, he didnt get all the main events.

As for Brett, you have to pay close attention to WHEN certain interviews were done because in the last 5 or so years he has backtracked a lot with regards to Flair & HBK and Vince (not so much Hogan or Bischoff though).

Last year I listened to an interview in which Hart praised Flair's work rate, praised his professionalism in the ring, talked about how great their European Tour Matches were, admitted he didnt know about Flair's injury at the hands of U-Warrior, and said he was proud of all the matches they did, wished they would have done more.

Again, you have to pay attention to WHEN an interview was done with Brett, unlike guys like Hogan & Flair & Austin who have basically said the same things a million times for the last 17 years, Hart 10-15 yrs ago was much more vitriolic and bitter about the industry in general and certain people in particular.

Last year I listened to a Hart interview where he was well full of praise for Flair (he still thinks he's better, but he clearly put over Flair's work rate, dedication, professionalism, & admitts he was more charismatic) and Hart these days rarely lashes out at HBK (unlike years past), he isnt as diffetent towards HHH but he's definately more respectful & puts over how hard HHH works behind the scenes.

Now even though Hart in recent years is far more praise filled for Flair & HBk, and to an extent Vince, he hasnt chsnged his tune on Hogan & Bischoff.

its funny to think that 1992 was the first calendar year that Hogan didn't have possession of the World title, big changes for the company that year indeed

Where did you hear this? I thought savage took time off right after the title loss. I didn't know he did the tour.
Also, I know Hall has put over Savage huge in interviews. Says they got along great and savage did a lot to help him during that time.
Obviously that doesn't tell you how savage felt but hall certainly made it sound like they were friends.
