TNA beating WWE in ratings....can be done but they would need almost 5 years to built on the Home Talents, making them hugely popular, Targetting all cities and towns of Tennessee and other southern areas like Macon, atlanta, new jersey, north caroliana, etc. Going on road every week.

and most important starting a new way of Wrestling promotion. Look why ECW and Attitude era got success because they were different from the orthodoxial wrestling styles of the generation.

And never forget - IN BISCHOFF's Words "Controversey Creates Cash"
Sounds good on paper now who would be forking out the bill for this? Sounds more a bad business idea if it doesn't come through and backfire into killing the company. TNA should just naturally grow rather than burn itself out, however at the moment just seems like a company with out of date attitudes and inhouse fighting.
Wrestling as a whole is on the downturn, the market that was there in the 90s isn't there now, which limits how far they can take it with WWE having such a stronghold.

How's that working out for him in TNA/IW, anyways? It seems all of the storylines he's been involved in have him creating controversy, and yet no one has been able to point to any of the cash he's created.

TNA > WWE in terms of wrestling? Who gives a shit? The era when people cared about the quality of the performance of professional wrestling died at least twenty years ago. That's why TNA/IW hasn't gained any net viewers in the past two years, despite spending plenty of money; the people in charge there don't understand that the medium of professional wrestling is dying. They don't need to build up talent, they don't need to go on the road. What they need to do is present themselves as a media company that produces television stars who act in the medium of professional wrestling. Sound familiar? It's exactly what the WWE did when they went to 'sports entertainment'. It's a loathed term around here, but in hindsight it was one of the smartest business decisions they've made. It lets them have their cake and eat it too; they can keep the professional wrestling fans while being able to cross-brand their superstars with their film company. (Again, their movies suck, but they always make money.)

Bischoff had it wrong. Controversy doesn't create cash; it takes opportunism as well.

Firstly I'd like that I'm not a tna hater but at this point I don't see tna ever properly competing with the wwe. I just don't see tna making the changes for the success necessary.
They need...
Creative, management and roster changes.
And they just won't make the tough decisions to gain the popularity they require. It seems like they are just expecting to be more popular.

i keep hearing how TNA has no money Duhhh they are owned by Panda Energy International a multi BILLION clean energy company with plants all over the world. Their gross earnings make WWE's look like chump change.

PEI - 4 billion dollar value
WWE - 600 million dollar value

Even the stocks are valued much higher

Saying TNA doesnt have money is a cop out as its just not true. Panda owns 72% of TNA so they have controlling intrest.

Dixie likes wrestling so daddy bought her the controlling intrest in the company so it is owned by a multi billion dollar corporation. In fact Momma Carter does the accounting for TNA and controls the purse strings.

TNA not having money does not hold water when the truth is in your face now does it.

Honestly, I don't think that TNA has to compete with WWE. Being #2 after WWE is quite a feat already if you asked me. WWE is just too much for TNA to handle. TNA should just focus on building their home-grown talent, go back to what made them enjoyable (X-Division, Tag Team Division, 6-Sided Ring), and just continue to put on great matches. It's been pretty good the past few weeks so all they need to do is continue what they're doing and they'll be fine.

I owe the world a service by responding to this idiocy.

First, Panda Energy is a private company. I find it very interesting that you know how high their stock price is, because that information isn't available publicly.

Second, you are comparing net worth, not cash on hand. If Panda Energy chose to completely divest themselves from the power industry, then yes, they would have a lot more money to compete with the WWE. However, their business M.O. is the construction and maintenance of power plants. This TNA/IW bit is a side venture.

Third, the end goal for TNA/IW is not to be the best professional wrestling organization in the world. Their goal is to make money. You don't make money simply by spending a shitload of it and saying "oh, well now that I've spent it, it has to come back!" (That's what happened to WCW. It turns out that the money doesn't come back if you don't spend it wisely.)

The facts are, TNA/IW is not a four billion dollar company. They would only be a four billion dollar company if Panda Energy chose to get out of the lifeblood of their business in order to focus on something that's pretty much a lark for the owner's daughter.

well Tna is allready competing with the WWE on a international level out side the US. But in the US they still have lots to conquer befre they could compete with WWE.

Yeah those hundred of thousand extra foreign viewers in 3rd world countries that don't provide any extra cash really help out
It was alrady touched on earlier. TNA has lost track of reality, just like its fanbase. They think that recycling the 80's will suddenly make them the greatest and that's why it will never happen

I don't see any need for TNA to compete with WWE, the best thing for them to do right now is just be the southern territory. Dig their heels in, book good angles, push young talent, put on a legit product that juxtaposes WWE instead of mirrors it. It sounds so simple but that's because it is.
