Default Crash Bandicoot vs Spyro vs Rayman

Vs Vs

Which was better Crash or Spyro. Many years of my childhood was spent spinning wildly for apples, collecting gems in differant relms and gliding to the floor using my hair like a helicopter.

But what I want to know is which better?

For Lee's sake im going to go for Crash. Why, because it was endlessly addictive, was totaly differant and had the best boss battles of any game of its kind. Then Rayman then spyro but all amazing games know pleas Lee, your opinion.

i'm going to have to say #1 Spyro, #2 Crash, and #3 Rayman. Spyro and Crash were two of the first video games i ever played, but i think Spyro is just a little bit better. every few years, i'll play spyro (ripto's rage) and everytime i play, it's STILL fun. i don't really get the same thing with crash. i also played a few Rayman games, but i dont think rayman compares to crash or spyro.

Nice thread idea kane-a-knight I think these three game serials are the most three under rated platformers there are.

Lets start with Spyro: This is the sort of game that you get put off just by its cutesy graphics the original (if I remember) getting some damn high scores. The problem is it didn't seem to go anywhere after the first few games.

Crash What happened? Well Dave has a thread on this so I won't go into too much detail but I think it's a very good series initially but dwindled towards the end.

Rayman I think fear will back me up here but the Rayman games have been immense. On top of the main series you've had the Ravin rabbids and a few other spin offs. Very enjoyable game series and Rayman himself is a pretty lovable guy!

Damn right. The original Rayman remains one of my all time favorite games, the joy I had that Christmas morning when I first got that Playstation and that first game (Rayman). I played it a few years ago and it still was fucking awesome, just a fun and beautiful game with great design and a bizarre but intriguing little backstory.

Rayman is brilliant, one of my favorites, so I'd probably have to say it's my favorite of these three franchises. But, I also have a large amount of love for the Crash series, because that was another one of the first franchises I fell in love with on the original Playstation.

To be honest I never got into Spyro though. I was a bit too old for those kind of games by the time that came around I guess.

Rayman for the win here.

I'm obviously the odd one out, having never played Rayman. It never appealed to me, and I didn't see the point in going out of my way to get it.

Spyro was a lot of fun to play, but after the first few boards on the first game, it got stale, and there wasn't a whole lot going on to keep me interested.

That leaves the clear cut winner as Crash. This was Sony's response to Mario and Sonic, and even though it failed miserably in that respect, it was still a great game, and the series lived on for a few games before getting boring.

I'd like to toss out a wild card here: Earthworm Jim. The first game was way too much fun to play, and even more fun to get drunk and watch someone else play.

I'd have to put Crash Bandicoot as #1 out of the three. The first five games on ps1 were pure gold (1, 2, 3, crash team racing, crash bash). Two decent ps2 games being (Wrath of Cortex and Nitro Kart) and one brilliant game being Twinsanity. There was a good one on gameboy advance. Though once Sierra took over they butchered the series with Crash of the Titans (Mind over Mutant wasn't too bad). Just for a good amount of good games makes it #1

#2 Spyro. The first three games were fun. What ever came afterwards just fails. Simple as that

Not ranked. Raymond as I never played it so I can't rank it properly.

First game I ever bought for my Playstation was Crash Bandicoot. I promptly took it back the next few days. I never really liked that game too much, never dabbled too much in Rayman. Spyro was where it was at for me. I love that game, I might go and buy a old copy now just thinking of it. That game was incredibly addicting, and so much fun. I'm gonna have to say Spyro for the win.

Believe it or not, I am going to go with Crash Bandicoot. I know, I know, I am completely predictable but nevertheless, it is the best series of games out of the three.

Crash Bandicoot is not only my favourite series of the three, it is one of the best series of games ever to hit console gaming. Sure, you have Halo and Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty now but Crash Bandicoot is still one of the most fun series of games I have ever played. I played it as a very young child and have completely fell in love with it from the first moment. I hav both of the games that have been released on the XBOX Live arcade and I still play the regularly. Yes, Crash was supposed to be Sony's answer to Mario and Sonic and although he never reached those heights, it is still a fantastic game series.

However, just like Mario and Sonic, Crash has become stale and over-used. I know you might kill me for that Lee but it is true. Just like all great video games characters, Crash has become the proverbial cash cow for developers and has been tarnished into the ground. However, I will always look back upon the first few offerings of the series as the best and they will always hold great memories for me.

I would rate Spyro next as it is the only series after Crash that I have played to any great length. I did play some Rayman but it was only the original and I never played it for an awful great amount of time. Spyro, on the other hand was a game that I just could not escape. My brother loved it and played it constantly. It was a decent game and it is my number 2 because of my lack of playing Rayman.
