Is Punks "best in the world" gimmick getting lame?

Context people. Context. Where does the saying originate from? The first time we heard it from Punk was the famous "shoot" promo on the ramp. When he said "I am the best professional wrestler in the world" he was taking a shot at Cena for being limited. The next line was about him being the...

Miami Region, Fifth Round: (1) Hulk Hogan vs. (3) John Cena

Fully understand. I am arguing that all of that is a wash anyway. Using the HBK and Rock matches really does not factor in my opinion. If Rock/Hogan happens thats when that argument can happen.

Miami Region, Fifth Round: (1) Hulk Hogan vs. (3) John Cena

I feel weird even questioning something you say as every time I read your comments I find myself nodding along and agreeing, even be swayed in opinion, but I must be critical on this point. Couldn't we use the exact same logic with the exact same wrestlers to make the exact OPPOSITE conclusion...

Miami Region, Fifth Round: (1) Hulk Hogan vs. (3) John Cena

This is the match that will not end Yes it goes on and on my friends Hulkster strating hulking up Cena not sure what it was Then Super Cena overcame just because This is the match that will not end.... Seriously. I think the biggest thing to be taken out of this match is that since this is KotR...

WWE Region, Fourth Round, Iron Man Match: (1) Hulk Hogan vs. (5) Mick Foley

Hasn't Hogan always gotten stopped in the gimmick stages of these tournaments? It's always been a ladder or steel cage that has been his undoing, not necessarily a opponent. In all likelihood he is getting passed Foley here. Any other stipulation he may have struggled, but no way he loses an...

WWE Region, Fourth Round, 3 Stages Of Hell: (2) Shawn Michaels vs (3) John Cena

I'm sorry, anyone saying someone else is an idiot for thinking one way or another on this one is kidding themselves. Two huge names with amazing careers with a match that fits them both. An argument can easily be made for either.

WWE Region, Fourth Round, 3 Stages Of Hell: (2) Shawn Michaels vs (3) John Cena

To me this comes down to the steel cage match. Cena wins the street fight and HBK takes the ladder match. And I have far from made my mind up about that cage match. The one thing that keeps popping in my mind is that match in the UK. That year was the absolute prime of John Cena's prime. He was...

International Region, Third Round, Embarrassment match: (3) Triple H vs. (11) Batista

The essence of Batista's success is that defeated a in his prime HHH. I think the stipulation is being slightly overrated here as either could perform the others move. Classic case of terrible matchup for a superior guy. Vote Batista

WWE Region, Third Round, Dog Collar Match: (2) Shawn Michaels vs. (7) Bob Backlund

Bingo. Backlund may dominate the the majority of the match, but that's the norm for Shawn Michaels. Michaels looks dead to rights in this match then BAM! Sweet Chin Music. 1-2-3. This is the exact kind of match HBK overcomes the odds a wins.

    Should Great Khali turn heel?

He does make more sense as a heel. Just simply has that look. Also easier for a heel to get away with being as stiff as he is. But there is a reason few people think of as to why he is a face and why he is constantly on TV over better workers. Actually there are over 1 Billion reason. Khali is...

Welcome all New Members (If You Are New Post in Here)

Guess I'll say hello. I'm 24 and have watched since I was about 10 with a brief hiatus from 03-05. Might as well confess I'm a HBK and Y2J mark. Also love Punk, Rock, and Edge!

WWE Region, Dallas Subregion, Second Round: (1) Hulk Hogan vs. (17) Eddie Guerrero

Very simply put, this is very good vs. great. Guerrero had a great career and put on some fantastic matches, and there is no shame in losing in this thing to Hulk Hogan. Just can't make any realistic argument for Guerrero. Was he a better technician in the ring? of course. But wrestling is...

WCW Region, NJ Subregion, Second Round: (5) Bruno Sammartino vs. (12) Goldberg

Great matchup. Great. Great. Great. I'll go with the unpopular choice and take Goldberg. Very aware of his shortcomings. Also very aware of the intensity he brings that is hard to articulate, simply had the "it" factor that few do. Sammartino absolutely had a better body of work and could match...

WCW Region, NJ Subregion, Second Round: (4) Lou Thesz vs. (13) Diamond Dallas Page

I agree that watching him battle nwo week in and week out was great tv, sharpshooter. But I can't justify him over Thesz. I want to. I just can't. Thesz is just too accomplished. too talented to justify putting over DDP. Vote Thesz

Int Region, SF Subregion, Second Round: (7) Rey Mysterio vs. (10) Chris Benoit

Coinflip of a matchup here. I'll say Mysterio because Beniot is used to being the undersized guy and he may struggle some with actually having a size advantage. I could easily be convinced to go Beniot here. But Mysterio had a slightly better career.
