Overhauling the Divas division: What would you do?

    1. So what? AJ was still one of the most pushed people, female or male, on the roster this year. 2. And you could just as easily argue that when AJ is an segment with a Diva rather than Cena, Punk, Bryan, Kane, or Ziggler, quite a few people will tune out.

Overhauling the Divas division: What would you do?

The week after AJ quit as GM after months of being a focal point of Raw, Vickie put her in a match with Beth Phoenix. The match lost viewers and did the worst quarter hour rating of the whole night. So, yes, fans can like a catchphrase or gesture or gimmick without being interested in matches.

**MERGED** WWE Hall of Fame 2013 Discussion (Keep it in here!!!!)

Wrestling promotions are allowed to use their video library however they want. One of the indy companies that AJ Lee worked 3-4 years ago recently released a DVD of her matches (certainly in an attempt to capitialize on her WWE fame). I doubt AJ got even 1 cent from it. Ring of Honor released...

**MERGED** WWE Hall of Fame 2013 Discussion (Keep it in here!!!!)

Yes, you can. In July 1997, when WCW was really hot, the WWF aired a special about the history of SummerSlam after a Raw episode. When they advertised it during Raw, almost every guy who was shown and had his name mentioned in the commerical was someone who was on WCW Nitro that same night...

**MERGED** WWE Hall of Fame 2013 Discussion (Keep it in here!!!!)

"Owning the right to your character" just means you can use the name and gimmick wherever you go, and WWE can't give your name/gimmick to someone else, like they did with the fake Razor Ramon and fake Diesel in 1996. Inducting someone into the Hall of Fame without his/her consent is perfectly...

Divas Division: 1 Step Forward, 5 Steps Back

They have to hire girls based on looks. Eye candy on a PG, family entertainment show is a must. The only thing that could be more exciting than that would be a porn movie where everyone is fully clothed the whole time. Plus, where else is a guy supposed to go for a little eye candy? It's...

Official Raw/Smackdown Aftermath, Ratings and Review Thread

I don't think the whole arena going "This is awesome" as in "This match is amazing" and a few guys going "This is awesome" as in "Ooh, good spank material when I get home" are really comparable but okay. And I was just going to by what people who were there also called it. Guys who were at...

Official Raw/Smackdown Aftermath, Ratings and Review Thread

I thought it was a good show overall. Ryback is getting over pretty quickly. And, damn, the crowd usually craps on a Divas match with silence, but two different guys who were at the show sent live reports to a couple of the major wrestling sites and mentioned that some people were mocking...

The Divas are finally getting some TV time

I'd actually like to see some numbers to back up the claim of Trish and Lita being "draws". I'm sure they did better than the current Divas, but that really isn't much of an accomplishment as the current Divas are not draws at all. One thing I have noticed is that there used to be a Divas...

The Divas are finally getting some TV time

I should have noted that the only pattern here is that the Diva segments lose viewers almost every single week. The degree to which they lose viewers is not nearly as constant. Next week's Diva segment might lose 150,000 viewers or it might lose 450,000. It's pretty much 50/50.

The Divas are finally getting some TV time

What build? You act like this is something new, but they do this for every Divas' angle. Some 2-3 minute match where a Diva does commentary while her enemy wrestles. That's every Diva feud for years now. If you want to know one really big reason the Divas get crapped on so much, it's...

The Divas are finally getting some TV time

Yeah, I don't get it, either. Although, given how the weekly quarter hour ratings show that the Diva matches lose a couple hundred thousand viewers almost every week (Eve/Kaitlyn on Monday lost 321,000 viewers; Eve/Beth on October 1st lost over 400,000 viewers), I'd say many viewers don't...
