I think WWE quite simply has the best production, likely because they have the most money. WWE can debut talent with flashy entrances and unique themes (Wyatt Family, Fandango) and their promo videos and pre-tapes are of exceptional quality. I personally enjoy rewatching promo videos from...
A fun idea, but that would be way too many singles matches on the card IMO.
I think the Santino win can be a good thing because his celebration and the crowd's reaction to his win certainly put over what a big deal it is to be US Champion. Anything that makes the title look important is good...
I definitely think WWE is trying to be unpredictable. The Sheamus win, Undertaker's return, even Kane's return were all events that didn't get a ton of play in the IWC. My only worry right now is that WWE seems to be too concerned with being unpredictable. Unpredictability is an important part...
I think that the WWE product has been stronger in the last 6 months than it has been in a long time. I try to stay optimistic about all the storylines because I want wrestling to succeed and become as big as it once was. People have forgotten how much fun WWE can be.
Get used to this. Sheamus can't cut a promo beyond token Irish stuff and has basically been pushed because he has a unique look and is friends with Triple H. He's going to be forced on the audience for years and people will be complaining about him eventually for the same reasons they complain...
Sheamus has just become the most overrated wrestler in the WWE. I'm amazed at how many people are alright with this win. Sure Sheamus is fairly over as a face but since he's turned he's done nothing except tell bad Irish folk tales and say "arse." My biggest issue is that Sheamus beat guys like...
I think Evolution was most effective in the way it got Orton and Batista over as future stars. Without Evolution there's a good chance that neither man would have achieved the same level of success. Orton apparently had motivation issues early in his career. He was supposed to win the 2005 Royal...
This.
The shoot promo launched Punk's career and briefly brought mainstream attention to the professional wrestling industry. Too bad they screwed it up by having him lose to Triple H a month later.
Triple H - He beat CM Punk at Night of Champions. Punk was the hottest commodity in wrestling and Triple H still had to beat him. I don't know 100% that Triple H is the political asshole that people make him out to be but he certainly has placed himself in a prominent position in the current WWE...
I think WWE is just trying to fulfill their commitments until the network launches next year. NXT has gone on for a very long time yet it has become a vehicle for guys like Jinder Mahal and Tyler Reks to have broadcasted matches in front of large crowds to develop their talent. No one watches...
I agree that generic names in wrestling is definitely a problem. The issue directly reflects the general lack of creativity in the wrestling business today. Too many guys debut as "the big guy" or "the high-flyer" and really have no unique selling point beyond what they convey through their...
I find this thread pretty ridiculous. Personal opinions aside Ric Flair is considered by everyone in the business as one of the best wrestlers of all time. If you look at facts and figures he's one of the top 3 best at drawing money (with Hogan and Austin.) Ric Flair has worked with the best...
I think the secret to succeeding as a wrestler is to develop in the ring and on the mic as a heel and then, after a long time, the fans will get behind you and you'll naturally turn face. A great example of this is Randy Orton. He was supposed to be the next big face after winning the World...
Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes are two of the best young talents in the WWE right now. Ziggler is great on the mic (even though he doesn't get too much time) and is arguably the best in the world in the ring right now. On top of this he continues to evolve his character with his new "show off"...
From what I've seen of Dean Ambrose he appears to have potential as a heel. He's got size and in-ring ability but most importantly he carries himself in a unique way with all his twitching and spastic movements in the ring. Don't know what he's like on the mic but I look forward to seeing him on...
