Cena is being written as a bad leader.

Cena's leadership is being written by Creative so that Congress's leadership looks good by comparison. It's awful. The storyline is being written on autopilot with Wrestling logic ("The heels always get the better of the faces and the good guys never help if you need to draw heat") while...

    Say Hello To Finn Balor

Yeah, in a similar vein, I couldn't believe that Hulk Hogan could beat a guy who was so much bigger than him, as Andre was, at the time of their encounter. All the gritty realism of pro wrestling died at Wrestlemania 3. Also, Finn's entrance music was pretty damn good.

Being charismatic & being good on the mic....

One thing I'd like to add about Lesnar. He may not have a tough guy voice like Harley Race, but even with his register, his promos are often pretty good. And his body language is *perfect*. Please look at the Post-WM XXX 30 with Heyman, and just how well his body language compliments what Heyman...

    The Shield should stay together.

The thing about the Shield is that they have the potential to be the best full time"badass face" since Stone Cold. We have a boy scout face in Cena, a goofy face with a lot of heart and skill in Bryan, and we had the rebel with a ton of skill in Punk, but no face who really screams "don't mess...

Official Raw/Smackdown Aftermath, Ratings and Review Thread

Very good Raw. Some of the praise seems excessive when we get yet another Santino/Fandango clash, the ugly Rey/BNB match, the Warrior promo (which succeeded only because he hasn't been on television in decades, the actual promo was a shadow of his former gonzo self), and the promise in the Divas...

    Flair is a mess

I don't think you need to ever worry about Ric being out of character. All indications are that his life would be much less messy if he could detach himself from the Nature Boy persona. But he's entertained me for over three decades, and I can forgive him a lot. I just wish he'd take better care...

When was the last time you were excited about a Wrestlemania show/match?

These days, I get excited more for the post-WM RAW than WM itself. Politics seems to get in the way of the matches I'd like to see. I was more jazzed for Cena-Bryan at Summerslam and Wyatts-Shield than I am for anything on this card, with the possible exception of Bryan-HHH. If I seriously...

Why do Bryan fans want him to be a main eventer so bad when he is a B+

There would have been nothing wrong with Hogan in the mid-card. I wish most of his fans could have seen this, too. Please, please tell me what specific criteria qualifies people for the top of the card that excludes DB being there? Needing a chant to get over? Damn Ric Flair and his "woo" then...

Best Match to Fit the Storyline

I'd have to say that the epic Austin/Bret clash at WM has to fit the bill perfectly. It had a great build, which set up the double turn beautifully. Good wrestling is the art of making people crave seeing a match. It's what, accidentally or deliberately, the Bryan-HHH clash is doing right at the...

Best Feud of the past decade

I had to go with HBK/Y2J, great matches and a great build, and one of the sweetest heel turns of all time, and it launched "Lex Luthor"/suit Jericho, one of the best heels ever. But I can't argue with anyone who picked Cena/Punk or Cena/Edge, or Punk/Hardy. And you missed out on recent years...

Who would you have to guest star on RAW?

Hmm... Randy Couture would be fun to have on. He fits into the Tyson role of respected badass, getting a little physical if he was up to it. I'm not sure who I'd chose as his antagonist. I think it would be tremendous fun to have Alan Rickman come onto the show, leave the faces and the divas...

    What did I miss?

I was actually thinking of the Money in the Bank PPV from Chicago of that year, where Cena faced Punk. Do yourself a favor and watch the match. It's at least as good as their incredible RAW match from last year, with a super payoff. Then try to catch the rematch at Summerslam '11, and the build...

Daniel Bryan sucks on the mic!

Anyone who thinks he sucks on the mic needs to go watch his "Bears" commentary from Saturday Morning Slam. The days of 20 minute opening promos as a regular feature, as Cena noted, are coming to an end. RAW's a global brand, and long stretches of talk bog down the action, which is more...

    What did I miss?

Bryan/Shamus was at the start of 2012. So, a few things off the top of my head: A really great Jericho-HBK feud in 2008. One of the best rivalries of the decade. Heel Jericho was never better, and he made some of the leaner times more bearable. HBK's final WM matches with Taker. Epic. A...

Who on current WWE roster has the potential to be......

I think if Cena had the right director and script, he could pull it off. Also, while I may be alone here, I think his promos are a lot better these days than when he was doing the Marine, his jokey ones aside. Punk would be a natural character actor, possibly leading man in a romantic comedy...
