Festus?

Hey I know alot of people proberly really dont care, but does anyone know if Festus has been released or just off TV getting repacked?

To my knowledge, there's been no official "future endeavors" message for Festus, so I figure he's still on the roster.

To be quite frank, it bothers me why they have not used Festus at all in awhile since he is still on the main roster and not in FCW to my knowledge. Vince loves big men wrestlers and Festus is a pretty good one at that. However, there are possibly two solutions I have to why he is not being used currently:

1) He is on the RAW Roster. This place has a heavy midcard division where only the best of the best make it through the glass ceiling into the upper midcard region. To be a main eventer, you must have paid your dues already. With Festus being a novelty gimmick on the SD roster where him and Jesse never won the gold, he has no use to the RAW brand.

2) He is getting Re-Packaged. If you do not feature a wrestler on the television for quite some time, chances are the main public will start to forget about you and move on with the wrestling world. Since Festus wasn't anything memorable to the public yet the company might still see potential in him, they are keeping him off TV to debut Festus as somebody else or under a new gimmick so he has a chance of making it past the midcard/tag team divisions.

I wish to God WWE would use this guy as who he really is. His dad's Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy, a future Hall of Famer, for God's sake. Why would they give him such a lame-ass gimmick?!?

Festus hasn't been released, but he sure as hell has been missing for a long while. There was a rumor going around before that they had planned to repackage him as the bodyguard for CM Punk, but obviously that hasn't come to fruition. Raw right now is overloaded with people that they can't find the time for, so I highly doubt we'll be seeing him anytime soon...possibly not even until the next draft. As far as him being released, I don't think they'll pull the trigger quite yet, though he's certainly one of the people on the short list when it comes to potential releases coming up soon.

One of the primary reasons I'm assuming he's not being better utilized by WWE is his general appearance. While he's a capable big man, he doesn't have most of the defining characteristics of a WWE superstar. His build is big but not massive. It's bulky but not defined. And he's got a chrome dome. He simply doesn't look like a superstar.

The biggest push he's ever received was when he was the Fake Kane. And that, for obvious reasons, was a dead-end job.

For those wondering, Festus is being repackaged as Eli Cottonwood in FCW the farmclub of WWE. I saw him wrestle in a 6 man tag a few months ago. Apparently he's supposed to be a mentally ill patient of some sort. He was wearing medical scrubs. Hope this helps.

actually Festus is Drew Hankinson and Eli Cottonwood is Kipp Christianson, they just look strangely alike

I think vince realized that big men dont get over like andre did so there for he has never had any faith in festus kane or big show.
