I don't think it's been done in WWE, the closest I can come to is Eugene. But here in Oklahoma I saw a comedic wrestler who was confused as to where he was supposed to be to win the match.
This guy did it so well.
He would beat the living crap out of his opponents to the point that they couldn't move. Then, he would literally lay down and drape their arms over him, and allow himself to be pinned. After his "loss" he was convinced that he had won. He would jump up and celebrate and grab this crappy little homemade belt. They even went so far as to try to point it out to him in interviews, but he really swore that it was a win rather than a loss. This guy really had you believing.
The backstory was that the guy had suffered a severe head injury. It was silly and stupid, but it worked.
I would like to see WWE try something like that, and with their PG rating, it would work. Kids would be all over that.
The other person I can think coming close is the old Dave "Evad" Sullivan, except he knew the difference between a win and a loss.

I can see a wrestling Guru who knows lot of facts and stats about wrestling. He could go as a heel or a face. Being a know it all it would be easy to hate him and at the same time they could love him.

The WWE needs a true blue collar gimmick...working class, low payed, struggle to get to the top kind of fellow that don't take no crap from nobody...on second thought that kinda sounds like stone cold....but what the crap its not currently being done

I'd like to see the 'Hitman' gimmick reborn.
For 2 reasons:
1: As a child Bret 'The Hitman' Hart was my hero and still is! He never injured any one, always was humble, and had cool shades ;] dare I say better shades than the Macho Man Randy Savage.
2: IT'S BEEN SO LONG! I want to see this gimmick again so BAD! And I would love to see it reborn into Tyson Kidd, the protege of Bret Hart himself.

Im not sure if this particular gimmick has been done before but generally its been over done. How about a professor? Comes done to the ring with a lab coat like Edge & his coat & proclaims he has a degree in Science with various majors. Lets take a look at his gimmick with his moveset:
- Anatomy = submission & technical skills (he knows how to pick apart his opponent & torque body parts with the right amount of pressure)
- Physics = spot moves (knowledge allows how much force, velocity, etc. goes into diving over the ropes or turnbuckle moves for a direct & perfectly executed hit)
- Pyschology = mind games & promo work (ability to get inside ones head)
I'd imagine this guy wouldnt be a power wrestler or brawler by any means. These science professors are supposed to be the nerdy guy, but with this knowledge, is able to perform moves of a guy of his build (i.e. around the 200 - 230 pound or 100 kilogram mark)

The should get a wrestler with a gimmick as a former cameraman whose fed up with getting knocked out. It would've been a better way to debut Sim snuka after wrestlemania 25 instead of having him on raw for two seconds.

They already had a professor gimmick with "The Franchise" Shane Douglas when he was in the WWF, he was known as Dean Douglas, the College Dean Professional Wrestler. Also don't forget about "The Genius" Lanny Poffo. Most recently Matt Striker the Wrestling Teacher.

I don't know if this has ever been done, but how about a gimmick where a wrestler thinks every wrestler besides his tag partner, is his enemy. For example, you come up to him and ask him how he's doing, and he just tears you apart. But when his tag partner is there, he's just a normal guy. He knows that his tag partner is his friend, but, believes everyone else is trying to hurt him. So, basically, the guy thinks he's always in a match. And the only way he doesn't attack someone, is if his partner is present, and tells him there okay.
What do you guys think?

I want to become a pro wrestler and need an idea for a gimmick. How about either "The worlds most dangerous man" or "The Human weapon"
Pleas efeel free to expand on these ideas. cheers

Here's one. How about your gimmick is someone who goes onto wrestling forums and doesn't talk about what he's supposed to talk about. So everyone in the locker room hates you for it because they get on wrestlezone.

Not to burst ur bubble either, but the human weapon will make people think ur a joke, and the worlds most dangerous man well have u heard of "ken Shamrock"? Look him up on UFC.

Kind of a cheesy gimmick, but a detective of some sorts. Say a wrestler gets hurt and we haven't seen them in a while, well this superstar goes on the hunt for them. He could appear on any show and just be like "hey have you seen so and so?" It would be a short lived gimmick as once the person is found, the detective would be pointless.

What is the idea behind Vladimir Kozlovs Gimmick and what was the idea for Lesnar until WWE Released him? Do you think the WWE will recycle Lesnars Gimmick?

This isn't a gimmick I came up with but the gimmick of a tag team I saw recently in a south australian show (which by the way was more entertaining than any WWE show I've seen in a long time) its something different and I think they would go down well with the kids in this current PG era.
They go by the name "fitness maniacs", basically they're a couple of buff guys that tell the audience how fat and unfit they are and attempted to get the entire crowd to do squats and pushups with them. They walk to the ring doing squat thrusts and things of that nature, the theme song was "she's a maniac", these guys are a great heel team, hilarious, fresh and really good in the ring and i'd love to see them in the WWE.
(EPWAdelaide.com if anyone is interested, we gotta keep the indy scene alive!.)

i got two
1) it has been tried before but not successfully, Scottish Hard Man, i mean a guy the build of Knox that would just kick the living hell out of you
2)The Master Of Illusion, Smoke Bombs to distract ppl, appearing from literally nowhere, if the did him as a masked magician they could use doubles of him and if you put him as a heel you could have him torment some of the divas, have them get like sawn in half and other tricks
i think it would really work

Do a google search of The Bodydonnas.
They were a mid 90s tag-team. Skip (Steve Candido) & Zip (Tom Prichard) and the smoking hot Sunny
I got one that I've always thought it would be good. And I also believe its the only way to turn RVD heel.
For this example I'll use RVD.
During a match, RVD gets seriously 'injured' doing a move. Example the VanTerminator.
He's off of TV for a LONG long time. When he comes back, he's afraid to take any risk. No more rolling thunder, no more 5 star frog splash etc. It even gets to the point where he'll climb the turnbuckle....and then jump off because he's afraid of being reinjuried.
This goes on for a long time. And eventually you bring in Sabu (or someone along those lines) to have a match between the 2 because he's the only one that can push the guy to the extreme again.

lmao there's some funny suggestions here... ahem..
I had an idea of a Mad Scientist managing some absolute machine who he feeds some form of energy to. You could use so much psychology in a match around this potion of sorts. IE, an opponent could drink some.

Ok I got some ideas for some fairly stupid gimmicks...
How bout a guy that has been diagnosed with some sort of psychological anger issue, and can't help it when he gets upset and attacks someone............ oh wait that was Orton.
Ok well how about a guy who runs around acting like he's some sort of super patriotic soldier and is all about honesty and all that other mushy good stuff?.......... oh wait that's CENA
Well how about some biker-like guy who is on a path of vengence because his opponent beat the crap out of his family and he.... waaaaiiiit that's Triple H
All jokes aside (and I'm not saying I think their gimmicks are entirely stupid), I think the WWE needs to make more of their wrestlers have more defined personalities. I LOVE festus' thing, where he's got that schizophrenia kinda thing, and he's frozen until the bell rings and he just goes balls wild.
For a heel, how about some PETA member who goes around saying that EVERYONE in the audience is terrible because they eat meat, hunt, wear animal hides, blah blah blah. He also does the same thing in the locker room, and eventually attacks some guy he sees eating a steak :dark2:, starting a feud. (For anybody that's a PETA supporter/member, if you have anything against me saying this gimmick, you can message me and we'll chat).
I can't remember if this had been done before, but what about a Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin kinda gimmick? Not only would it be hilarious, but that gimmick could be either heel OR face. He could go around backstage, halfway crouched down, and talk about a wrestler or diva...
"He we are, looking at the ANIMAL... Batista... a big brute, powaful, but not entirely intelligent..."
or he goes into the diva's locker room... "CRIKEY! Look at THAT sheila! She's a real beaut, ain't she!?"
or imagine if he came across hornswoggle...

I agree that the Festus thing is kind of cool in the sense it's a nice OTT gimmick and we need a few more of them.
The PETA thing is way, WAY too controversial. There'd be absolutely no need to rock the boat that much, and remember WWE is PG.
Plus, look no further than Skinner (WWF) if you want a croc hunter.
Been done before.

Here's a fucking sick gimmick, have a guy who is a hardcore gamer. He would of course be a comedy midcarder who could gather an awesome cult following. All his cathphrases could be internet or video game terminology such as QQ n00b, and he could have some awesome merchandise. Rather than having dangerous and intimidating nicknames such as "the toughest S.O.B in the wwf" he could have ludicrous nicknames such as the "Level 70 paladin". For his entrance music he could come out to either Rush or Dragonforce (nerd music FTW) or maybe he could even come out to "never gonna give you up" by Rick Astley. His signature moves could be things taken out of games such as the falcon pawnch or a "fatality". I've heard of a guy in FCW named Trent Baretta who has a similar gimmick to this and apparently has kickass mic skills, maybe they should call him up. I think this would get over HUGE.

Both have been done. Steve Blackman was "The Lethal Weapon" and Ken Shamrock was "The World's Most Dangerous Man".

The Body Donnas had a variation of this gimmick, with Sunny as their manager. Too bad that was a horrible gimmick for the late Chris Candido to do in WWE. He was much better than that.

i have an idea...how about a gimmick of a media type person who says wrestling is fake...he goes around talking to wrestlers about a documentary type movie and interviews them with the most embarrassing and stupid questions that only nonwrestling fans would ask...eventually he tries to interview vince mcmahon and vince makes him get in the ring with a lower midcarder that kicks the shit out of him...that gets the new guys ass kicked (which we all want to see) and it gives the lower midcard guy a nice little pop that he could try to work up higher on the card...the gimmick doesnt have a very long life to it..but it could give us all some entertaining moments

I'm not a gamer by any means, but I think that would definately be a good gimmick. In this day and age, alot of people play games and are familiar with internet and gamer talk. It would be excellent also because this gimmick could be heel OR face, which IMO is important for a gimmick's ability to last and refresh itself.
The problems I can find: He couldn't really use alot of the specific game references because of copyright issues and whatnot, so that would limit his promos and names of his movesets. Plus, alot of people in the audience may not be able to get into him much because they may not be into games or aren't too high on people who are gamers and/or nerds. The storyline of someone "picking on him" because he's nerdy would also get old eventually.
What I can see, though, is if he was in WWE he could feud with "MVP", who would be this super-jock kinda guy, and the two could have the classic jock vs. nerd battle.
It would help remove the stereotype that alot of people have of a nerd being weak, though.

I have an idea. . . a stupid one. . but its an idea that hasnt been done before. . recently i was watching the new movie angels & demons. . in that movie, one of the villians is this totally badass, brainwashed priest. He belongs to this secret society called the "illuminati". . wut if a wrestler were to call himself "the last illuminati" and go on to talk about how he will illuminate the darkness of the wrestling industry?. . I think that would be cool. . however the attitude does kind of resemble Chris Jericho's current gimmick

hey guys, some great replies and ideas..really hope we see more ott gimmicks soon and the likes of goldust, festus and santino (NOT Santina) are pushed a bit more. Imagine having a really ott gimmick as the champ. when has that happened last???
Anyway my idea for a gimmick would be a struggling actor who tries to get into all the promo's in the backround just to be on camera. could be heel or face and could get a fued with pretty much anyone with this.

I would love to see another DDP gimmick. And not from Ricky Ortiz.
The thing about DDP's gimmick is it was different and odd but look at what the gimmick accomplished for him. He never had to switch it or go through any sort of gimmick change, It stayed the same for his career. I can't say I want to see Orton continue to be a psycho wrestler for the rest of his career either.
WWE needs to come up with more serious gimmicks instead of more Santina crap.

How about a gimmick where u have multiple disorder. U can be a nice smiling guy when u debut, then the next week ur all crazy, with like hair flying all over the place and a very angry character. Then next week u go back to the original guy.

It's kind of funny that you mention PETA. Goldberg is big wheels in PETA. I know he would never come back to the WWE, but he would be the perfect guy for such a gimmick, only in his case, it wouldn't be a gimmick, he would just be himself.
