CM Punk...an evaluation

I'm trying real hard to like CM Punk/not wish he got pushed under a bus, so I'm going to do an evaluation on him. Feel free to chip in and help a brother out...

Bad:

- Horrible grease-weasel hair
- Potential gold heel gimmick gone wasting
- crap finisher
- Terrible on the mic
- sloppy worker
- Awful world title reign
- Awful world title reign to be repeated
- Others more deserving of MITB case
- has no real gimmick
- lip piercings are dangerous


Good:

- I like his entrance theme, it has made my gym playlist
- I like his taped fists tshirt

that is all.

Yup. Sums it up for me.

Don't hate the guy, but I don't like him anywhere near as much as I used to. You have to get behind wrestlers and their roads to the title, and he is kind of "given" everything too fast.

I like Punk.

Great gimmick.
Great in ring skills.
Great entrance theme.
Loads of potential and could be a legitimate main event if pushed right this year.
Underrated mic worker, despite rarely getting the chance to use his mic skills on TV.
Is a lot more interesting with the MITB Briefcase.
A decent babyface finisher.

The negatives are:

He's a babyface, therefore he must be hated by the IWC.

I'm not a face hater btw... faces I like include Triple H, Cena, Kofi Kingston, MVP, Batista (but only when I see him live, hard to explain...), John Morrison, Evan Bourne etc...

Actually no, I've seen only one indy match in my life. It was CM Punk vs Homicide, I think. It wasn't anything special like people claim ROH to be.

And I was being sarcastic. I'm not in a serious mood for some reason today lol.

That's a myth. He's actually a very mediocre heel, especially in comparison to Jericho and Edge, whereas he's almost as good a face as Jeff Hardy.

No worse than the Attitude Adjuster or the punt.

- Terrible on the mic

That's just a lie.

He's not nearly as sloppy as people seem to think he is. Certainly, there are sloppier wrestlers who go under the radar. Hardy, for one.

- Awful world title reign

"Awful" doesn't mean "full of awe". The word you're looking for is "awesome". The man was a better underdog world champion than John Cena and Rey Mysterio combined. More interesting too.

- Awful world title reign to be repeated

He'll be a stronger face this time. People will still find a reason to moan. Probably because he won't turn heel.

- Others more deserving of MITB case

If Christian and MVP aren't going to be on SmackDown!, then no.

- has no real gimmick

Who the fuck does? It's clearer than most.

I'll give you that one.

It's alright. Probably one of the better themes, but that's not saying much.

Ribs are better.

Punk doesn't suck on the mic and Flair and Triple H's first reigns weren't exactly hot shit either if my memory serves me right.

This man gets my faith.
