anyone else think santino would make the best color commentator in the wwe as he would provide entertainment with whoever he is alongside with

He is too much comedy to make it work and right now the character base commentator is leaving wrestling for a more traditional ex-wrestler as commentator. I mean I would get tired of him calling moves wrong on purpose, because they could call back Mike Adamle for that. Ja-Making-Me- Crazy.

I think he would be annoying as hell as a commentator. I love his role right now, and he makes me laugh every week. I have found his whole wanting to be Miss Wrestlemania to be absolutely hilarious, especially when he climbed to the top turnbuckle without using his hands. I don't know why, but something about that just made me laugh.
But as a color commentator, I'd pass. His accent would get really annoying after a while. To be honest, when he does guest commentary now, I have a hard time making out what he is saying. Santino would have to try to be funny all the time. It would take away from the product as he would be joking about everything and distracting the viewers from the match. While comedy is sometimes needed, it isn't needed 24/7 (or should it be 48/7? At least it made me laugh).
The WWE's best option is to promote Striker to Smackdown and find somebody to fill his role on ECW.

That's definitely the best option they have. Striker isn't bad on ECW, and he could hold his own with JR, or with Cole if they switch back the play by play guys in the draft. ECW is of less importance than SmackDown as well, so it makes more sense to put someone with experience in the role on SmackDown. So unless JBL retires again and goes back to that job (unlikely at this point or at all), they bring Michael Hayes out (more unlikely), or just use someone completely out of left field, Striker is the best option for SmackDown.

Keep Santino where he is, I think he'd be more entertaining staying in the ring, best examples being his attempt at steamrolling over Mickie when he had his hands tied, or his sexy dance moves in the mankini

The best option would be to promote Striker to Smackdown and keep Santino where he excels....in the ring.
Now I may be in the minority here, but it would nice if they would nice to see Santino's role change from being a pure gimmick. The ring talent is there.

NO! his voice, as others have pointed out, would be too annoying. maybe if he kicked the accent or something...but i don't see thta happening. santino might be able to wrestle, but, his charecter is a joke and i don't think he'll ever be able to recover and be taken seriously.

I love Santino, but you can't have a commentator call every wrestler by the wrong name, like "Goldendust", "John Senna", "Rodney The Piper". Plus, Santino would have to be serious for the really heated angles, and that'd take away from his character. Leave him in the ring. Unfortunatley he'll continue to job for years to come, I reckon.

sorry he'd be too annoying. Plus he'd never be a better color commentator than the King :P

Santino? It might be humorous the first time Santino is behind the booth with "the Jim Ross". However, it would get very stale and annoying very quickly. Santino is comic gold for the WWE...but he is also becoming nothing more than a joke. Jobbing to women in a quest to compete with women to be named "Miss Wrestlemania". The sad thing is, Santino is actually good in the ring, but can never show it due to his gimmick. Can Santino ever be taken seriously? Only if he gets "dumped" by Beth Phoenix and disappears from the WWE (momentarily) to get a gimmick change...unfortunately he'll need to "return" as a masked wrestler and go on a winning streak...then eventually reveal himself and show everyone he means business.

I'm not so sure it needs to be as drastic as a complete gimmick change. As was mentioned above, he needs to dump Phoenix by claiming that she has been holding him back. After that he will continue his losing ways but begin to make better and better showings each time he is in the ring. Finally, he breaks through with a win against a named guy and the winning streak begins. He then becomes....

As a general rule, I've always thought the best option for a color commentator is a guy who has charisma, can speak well, and is somehow unable to actually continue wrestling. Santino has no injuries or old age to worry about, so he should stay in the ring. Plus, that accent would be horrible from the commentary perspective. But if Anthony himself decided to quit wrestling, ditch the gimmick accent, and just go out there and be himself? Then he'd be a great commentator in my opinion as he flows very naturally on the mic. Now, that COULD be that he's just got a very solid memory and he does well with what other people write for him, but give him an open mic and he flops cause he can't think of anything on his own. Always a possibility.
Overall, I'd be against it due to his current health and age, and the accent which wouldn't translate well.

He's far too gimicky to be a color commentator. He may be more fit for a random backstage interview every now and then which would inevitably end in him insulting whoever he is interviewing, and then getting his butt kicked, but that's it. I think after about two matches of missed calls and mispronunciations, we'd all be tired of him. For now, Santino is being utilized the best way he can, no need to change that.

I wouldn't reccomend him as a color commentor cause of his accent. With that damn accent that he does & with him possibly being a commentator people are gonna get sick of him fast & either put the tv on mute or switch the damn channel.

the man is wayyyy too funny to be kept out of the ring so i wouldnt put him on the announcers desk as many of the funny things he does is how he acts. remember him climbing the top rope with no arms, hahahaha!!!
i havent laughed week in week out by a wrestler since the rock and austin.
if santino was given a chance to be funny in the ring and also look strong i would think he has a good chance of being a title contender, although he will never be champ, id pay £15 to watch santino vs wwe champ at mania.
comedy genius!

Ya I'd say Santino is perfect where he is. The only thing I wish he would do is shave his freaking uni brow! But he is a definite keeper.
