I wouldn't. Only the Rise and Fall is worth a damn, and even that is presented with such a slant it's hard to stomach at times.

I figured that they'd all be presented that way, but I haven't been able to watch much of anything old school lately, so when my girlfriend asked what I wanted, I suggested these. I would've suggested some of the WWE ones, but they're too expensive. She got these three all together for about $30.

I noticed that there's 2 or 3 matches that appear on all 3 DVDs, but the match listings are otherwise different.

The matches are decent, at best, but too reliant upon shock and blood.

I've never made it a secret that I'm not an ECW fan, but I honestly tried to give these DVDs a chance.

While seeing K-Squared is a nice perk, I'm definitely buying these for the older ECW matches.

The new ECW is basically WWE Lite.

I agree with Sly, Rise and Fall was the only one really worth watching, the only thing off Bloodsport that I remember standing out was the Dreamer/CW Anderson I quit match, I think I have Extreme Rules somewhere but don't remember ever watching it, you should of just asked from some old school ECW DVDs they're useally far cheaper (assuming you can find them) and you get more of and old school ECW feel with them than you do with WWE producing them, truth be told the only ECW DVDs that WWE has ever put out that I've enjoyed watching multiple times were ONS 1 & 2, the second one I bought for 2 reasons the first being that it had the Cena/RVD title match, the second adn biggest reason being that it came with a copy of Guilty As Charged (ECWs first ever PPV) in it's entirety

but that I Quit match is a good match. And it is probably worth trying to find the actual PPVs.

I thought about going for just the PPVs, but these were relatively cheap, and available straight from Amazon. She was worried about going through a different seller and getting ripped off. I really didn't have much room to argue. It is her money...

Barely Legal was their first PPV. The best match on that PPV was probably the Japanese 6 man tag.

Shockingly, the tag title match with the Dudleys didn't have a single weapon shot in it.

Anyway, i own all those DVDs, and enjoyed them all to varying levels. Mike Awesome's matches were good, but on the flipside they show little to no Raven on ANY of those DVDs, and i think there's literally 1 match featuring Rhyno out of the three DVDs and it's shit. 5 minute 3 man beat down on Sandman. They could have easily picked a far better match with him in.

TBH the Tapei Death Match on Extreme Rules wasn't good, and the Barbed Wire match isn't exactly awesome either. Be aware also that the 4 corners match for the TV title on Extreme Rules is 45 minutes long. It's good and everything, but if you're expecting a quick paced weapon fest then you'll be surprised.

Rise and Fall is a very good watch. When it comes to the matches, you'll probably enjoy the random ones more than the hyped ones. I did anyway.

I don't know why Raven would be left off, but Rhyno is in 2 or 3 matches total I think. I believe I saw a match with Sabu on one of them, and also a match with RVD. Definitely not a lot, but at least it
s something.

I've seen both Taipei Death Matches featuring Axl and Ian, so I know what to expect. I may have seen the four corners match, but either way, I'll enjoy it. I'm kind of happy it isn't a "weapons fest".

Rise and Fall is a very good watch. When it comes to the matches, you'll probably enjoy the random ones more than the hyped ones. I did anyway.

This is just more of the mixed reviews that I hear about it...

The 4 corner's matches is awesome, The Francise, Too Cold, Loinheart, And Pitbull #2, Pull off a great match.

The Sabu vs RVD strecher matches is a good un' as well.

When I saw it was these four, I almost creamed myself. Shane Douglas is one of my favorites, and Scorpio and Pitbull are both seriously under-rated.

It's no secret that Jericho is great, but his days as Lionheart were his best in my eyes.

Well if this is what you wont you should be happy. Hahahaha every one keeps saying that these dvd's are shit yet they have completely different opinions in other things. Anyways I have seen the rise and fall one and loved it.

The Rise And Fall Of ECW is definitely the crown jewel of the three. I'm sure it'll have it's moments where the commentary is slanted because of the WWE owning the rights, but it won't make a difference. It all depends on how much of the true story you know before watching it. Living near Philly, I saw all the media reporting that Heyman wasn't paying wrestlers, and guys were wrestling for free, and that WWE was bankrolling them for years. As long as they don't try to say that their ratings were what killed ECW. I'd be pissed.

The other ones I got for the sole purpose of seeing old matches. There's a handful I haven't already seen, and the rest are ones worth seeing again.

I'm only bumping this because there's no reason for a 2nd one...

Apparently, my grilfriend screwed up, and got me the book The Rise And Fall Of ECW. I don't mind, but I was looking forward to the DVD.

I also got a ton of other stuff today. I got the WWE Encyclopedia, and about 8 or 9 ECW VHS tapes, including the first ever PPV and Guilty As Charged '01.

You should find the Rise and Fall DVD, I think it's pretty damn good. Also try to find the Hardcore Homecoming DVD (not the tribute show, but the documentary) it talks to all the ECW guys that were employed in TNA while the Rise and FAll DVD was made with the WWE guys. It's interesting to watch both DVD's back to back. The WWE version is pretty much Paul E's version of the "truth" while the Homecoming DVD is pretty much Gordon's Version of the "truth". I'm an old school ECW mark and a half so I ate them up.

The documentary is Forever Hardcore, and I have it. I have the shows too. Bought the three pack for 15-20 bucks.

I may get the Rise and Fall eventually. Money is tight with some stuff going on, so I may wait until Father's Day and ask for it.

How is the book? I've only seen the DVD, and I really liked it. What's the difference between the two?

What better way to celebrate a birthday- ECW! I enjoy all 3 of those DVD's and I must say, that I do cry every time I watch The Rise and Fall of ECW. I am ashamed to admit that I didn't even realize there was a book. You must let me know how it is....

I haven't gotten it yet. My girlfriend has it at her house, and is bringing it up this weekend, along with the DVDs. I'm already watching the VHS tapes though.

Anarchy Rulz 99 is on now. I also have:

Barely Legal
Deep Impact
Extreme Evolution
Guilty As Charged '01
Hardcore History
Heat Wave '98
Path Of Destruction

EDIT: If you've never seen Anarchy Rulz, you need to. Not only were the matches for the ECW and TV Titles great, but Raven falling through the ropes to get into the tag team match was amazing. He was runnin full steam down the platform, went to dive through the middle rope, and just bounced off of the top and middle ropes :lmao:

I gave 20 or so ECW videos to Oxfam. If only you'd known.

I've started watching Bloodsport, and love it. I finished the Fatal 4-Way before leaving for work. That match alone should be used to show people that ECW isn't just weapons and blood.
