My question is...why? I saw this and it stunned me as he was never really that important I thought to the WWE, and I wasn't aware of any other success in any other wrestling.

all you need to know is taht your campaign against Owen Hart being in there just got harder. Honestly, I WTF'd at that too.

Which of these is not like the other.

Ricky The Dragon Steamboat
Cowboy Bill Watts
Koko B. Ware...???

Im pretty surprised also, as he is an actual example of a wrestler who's past his prime that is still clinging to wrestling today, something McMahon did not want associated with the WWE since "The Wrestler" came out.
I think the bigger question is... him over Savage???

I was seriously stunned when I saw this. I guess if you wrestled for more than a couple years in the Hogan era you are guaranteed a spot unless of course you're Randy Savage or Ultimate Warrior. How sad is it that Koko freakin B. Ware is a hall of famer but arguably the greatest worker of the past 25 years Randy Savage isnt? What a joke.

What an odd choice, KoKo B. Ware was pretty much a jobber during his career right? I could be wrong since I've never really researched KoKo before. All I know is that there are other options they could take, such as The Road Warriors (obviously), Ted DiBiase Sr, and Owen Hart who are more deserving of being given the Hall of Fame honor. Heck I'd even induct Bam Bam Bigeow before KoKo.

The only three notable facts about Koko B. Ware I can think of are:
1. He's never won at Wrestlemania
2. He's one of the first (if not, first) victim of the Tombstone
3. He's on the Beyond The Mat film and still trying to cling on to fame!

The main site posted that Koko B. Ware will be the newest induction to the WWE Hall of Fame. Is this a joke or what. What are they going to say when they induct him. Winner of multiple small regional tag titles, first person to fall victim to the Tombstone Piledriver, and one half of High Energy. What lasting impact has he made in wrestling that warrants this honor?
I feel that the Hall of Fame should be representative of the best of the best. Putting people in the Hall of Fame like Koko B. Ware depreciates the meaning of being a hall of famer.
Thoughts?

This really is a bad selection for the Hall, this guy was a basically a jobber with not even a sniff of a championship in the WWE. Hell if you are going to induct Koko why not just induct Frankie right along with him. I guess we are going to have an hour of inducting Stone Cold on TV.

Fuck yeah, man! Koko B. Ware is the shiznit. I'll never forget his parrot or the tag team he formed with Owen Hart (I think they were called High Energy); their gear, which consisted of suspenders and extra-extra-extra-large parachute pants, was off the chain!

Will Frankie be inducting Koko?...................(I know he's dead)

I've always respected Koko but the WWE have their own agenda. The WWE were suppose to be based on one simple philosophy, giving the fans what they want and clearly they have covered their ears and closed their eyes. The fact that individuals such as Randy Savage, Jake Roberts, Rick Rude and Ted Dibiase are not in the Hall Of Fame is embarrassing. Koko was a well rounded and popular performer but he is definitely not worthy of such an honour, but then again is it really an honour? At this rate they might as well induct The Brooklyn Brawler.

Mark Henry is smiling with hope, because his achievements are as good, if not better than Koko B. Ware's.
We all know how big of a draw that Mark Henry would be for the HOF ceremonies.

To Koko's credit, he was a very memorable performer from that cartoon era of the WWF, even if he was never a main event contender. I will admit that I was a bit surprised when they announced his HoF induction. But even if he's not nearly as popular nowadays, he was pretty popular back in that time, and there are worse choices they could have made.

I don't think that Koko should be in the hall of fame, but he was one of the more popular guys back in the late 80's and he was a very good worker. He always had exciting matches. He's most likely getting in because of his popularity and because he has always been loyal to the WWE.

dude how can they justify savage or Ted D not been in but this guy is? now its true true he was popular back in those days but come on he wasn't that damn popular

You guys act as if the WWE HOF is legit, please nobody should take the HOF seriously, it's a fucking joke, has been for years:lmao:

This proves the theory that the HOF isn't legit. Koko has done nothing, I repeat nothing, to warrant this. On Wiki it lists the reasons people get in. Koko's reason: he held several NWA regional titles.

It's kinda funny about a year ago I commented on this youtube video. It was the one with Taker's debut as Survivor series. In the match were Taker, Bret, Dusty, Dibiase, Honky Tonk Man, Greg Valentine and Koko B. Ware. I said something like "Damn this match consisted of nothing but Hall of Famers or future Hall of Famers with the exception of Koko B Ware." Little did I know that he not only would make the Hall of fame but get in before HTM and Dibiase.

03-10-2009, 01:42 PM
Well it doesn't seem right that he gets inducted, the thing that really struck me as odd is the guy who's inducting him Honky Tonk Man. Seriously shouldn't the roles be reversed here and Koko inducts him....just a thought. It would make more sense but then again the world of professional wrestling doesn't really have to make sense.

Could be worse. They could tell him to stay at home & just induct his parrot! Inductee;Al Snows Head ,wot a speech!!

I think the best thing coming out of this is it can give new arguments for people saying that they want people who might not deserve it into the HoF.

Hey, I'm glad it wasn't just Frankie. Did you know Frankie was the first parrot to work in pro wrestling ? A less known fact is that he became part of the booking team after Koko was released, sure, he did only do "Great idea Vince!" but he was part of the growth of the WWE. I heard a rumor that Damien might get in the HOF next. Seriously, the whole thing is getting ridiculous, are the Road Warriors in the HOF yet ? No?...but Koko B.Ware is ?...WTF ???
justinsayne
03-11-2009, 02:17 AM
DiBiase
Savage
Sammartino
I think that sums up the HOF in three words.
Before they can induct people into the HOF they call them or their family and see if they've accepted the invitation to be inducted, if they turn it down then they don't induct them, add to that that they can't just add every major superstar right away, if they did that they'd run out of inductees for future HOF classes, so as for they three names you mentioned Dibiase will likely be inducted at some point in the future, Savage and Vince have issues with each other that need to be worked out, this is no secret, but seeing as how Bret Hart and Vince were able to work out their differences long enough for him to get inducted I think the same will likely happen to Savage with him beign a major inductee somewhere down the road, and I beleive Sammartino has been extremly critical of the WWE HOF, and may have even stated that he would turn down the invitation if Vince ever offered it to him, though I could be wrong about all that

Yeah I get how the HOF works and everything. My point is that without those three, the HOF is a complete joke. If you're down to putting Koko B. Ware in, don't induct anyone.
Bruno has said he wants nothing to do with the company as a whole, which means the day he dies Vince will put him in the next year.

Koko B Ware, wtf?
are u serious, he did next to nothing other than have a cheesy cannon fodder gimmick and sing on the second ever wrestling abulm "Piledriver"
There are countless more people that would be better suited.
where could i start?
Big Boss Man, Rick Martel, Dynamite Kid, Haku, Hacksaw Jim Duggan thats just a handfull of people from that era that were far more impactfull

Ok, Koko may not be the best candidate, or even a good one, but they have asked worse people to be inducted...and some of them even said no! Just a day or 2 ago I read here at WZ.com that MR.T was invited but declined. I would take Koko over MR.T anyday.

I could name AT LEAST 50-100 guys I'd put into the HOF before KoKo Freakin B Ware!! There are some amazing talents not in yet but this guy is? You guys mention people like Savage,Dibiase,Jake,Sammartino,Owen,Road Warriors. What about guys like Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham, Demolition, Lex Luger, The Fabulous Freebirds, Sid, Bossman, Rick Rude, Rock N Roll Express, Midnight Express, Larry Zybysko, Brian Pillman, The Rock, Goldberg, DDP, Vader, Ole Anderson, Magnum T.A., British Bulldogs, Brutus Beefcake, Tommy Rich, I could go on and on!!
I think what this all boils down to is who is willing to bend over and kiss Vincey Pooh's ass. If you don't bow down to the almighty Vince he is gonna screw you over no matter how great your career was! I always looked forward to the announcing of the HOF classes b/c it would bring guys from when I was a kid back into the spotlight for a bit, this is KoKo B. Ware shit is just a joke. Who's next, The Gobbly Gooker? The Goon? Golga? Damian Demento?

Personally I think Koko was put in as more of a lifetime achievement type of recognition. For me, he was a staple in the 80's and one of the greatest main enhancement type talents of all time, and probably the only one who had some good matches on ppvs even though he lost all the time.
Next to the hall: Honky Tonk Man, Owen Hart, British Bulldogs, Rick Martel, Randy Savage, Big Boss Man, Elizabeth, Ted Dibiase, U.S. Express, and Rick Rude....Just a few champions, legends, and above all memorable staples from the glory days.

The WWE is scrapping the bottom of the barrel with Koko. He's just filler, there to fill the timeslot. Austin is the real draw of the ceremony, His induction could very well go an hour by itself.
Koko was never used as a main eventer, best case scenario a mid carder, but often a glorified jobber. That said, he was one of the best pure workers of the era, and had a great gimmick that kids loved and really got him over. He was always booked to lose, but that was because of his size, but he could work very well, and had a great following. If he was 5 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier, he would have been a multi time IC champion.

Yes he was a mid carder...correction LOWER mid carder, but Koko was popular in the 80s. Maybe im showing my age here, but i actually remember Koko getting some big pops in his time. I also remember whole crowds flapping their arms along with him when he entered. So im guessing that while his wrestling record isnt the best, it is his personality and work ethic which is getting him inducted.
In saying all that id rather see Rick Rude or Ted Dibiase get inducted. Maybe even get Ted Sr involved with Jrs match at Wrestlemania. Id love to see that!

Did anyone notice on last weeks smackdown and on this weeks raw they were playing Glass Shatters by Disturbed when showing the current people being inducted (before announcing the new person).

What's wrong with Koko B. Ware? He'll get a better reaction than Bill Watts, he's more intresting than Dory Funk and Frankie was more popular than Steamboats dragon.
