I was reading Madden's new column and he said that Hogan said that he was offered the lead role in "The Wrestler" before Mickey Rourke. Personally as big of Hogan mark as I am I find that laughable and think he is full of shit. For one I remember reading that Nicolas Cage was actually originally casted for the role and for another every movie Hogan has been in has been a flop. Why would you want to cast a guy like that? So you go from an Academy Award winning actor in Cage to a guy who's played in such legendary movies like Mr. Nanny, 3 Ninjas High Noon and Suburban Commando? Besides Hogan is too recognizable of wrestler to play a completely different wrestler in a movie. That simply wouldn't work. So sorry Hogan, I got to call you out and say that you're bullshitting on this one.

It wouldn't have worked with Hogan, he'd also be too expensive. You'd also have all kinds of rights issue with his name. It'd be a total waste of time.

Not all movies he has been in have tanked, only ones he has starred in. He appeared in Rocky III in a scene, and that movie was a box-office success.

I doubt Mr. Nanny & Suburban Commando were flops either. Cheap films but starrting somebody who was a huge star with kids at the time. Hogan was the Hannah Montana of his day.

Good point. It would be like doing a re-make of "Bull Durham" and having C.C. Sabathia play the part of an obscure minor-league pitcher. It just wouldn't be believable.
This isn't the first time Hogan has lied to keep his name in the news.

Until you've seen The ultimate Weapon or Santa With Muscles you don't know the power of Hogan's acting! Best performance's ever.

The only way I could see Hogan having any kind of meaningful role int at movie would be if he played the role that was given to Ernest "the cat" Miller, but even then it would have been a stretch to say the least, it is possiable that they tossed Hogans name out there, merely as a suggestion, though, then quickly realized what a bad choice it would be, and that getting an actual actor to play the role would be a much better idea
