I am surprised, in the bad way.

Jeff Hardy was the best story WWE had, and they wasted it on Armageddon? That was a WrestleMania moment waiting to happen and they have pretty much flushed it down the toilet.

Why in the blue fuck would they have a match they have had at every fucking PPV for the past, what 6 months now, at WM25, those two have been SD! PPV ME since Sept., WM25 will be Edge/Trips, Edge wins the belt back at RR, Trips wins another EC at NWO, WM is all set

Because Hardy has yet to go over HHH in a decisive manner...and he needs to if he is to be seen as a credible main-eventer? (I am basing this on my hunch that HHH was the one that knocked out Hardy before Survivor Series).

You ever think that the reason Trip has never put Hardy over is because he doesn't feel Hardy is worthy of the belt, and doesn't want someone who has a recent history of drug abuse representing the company as WWE champ?

that is if you don't count Hardy beating HHH for the IC title a few years ago. Im pissed because I would have loved that WM moment. I wonder what that is gonna be now. Maybe somebody over the Undertaker, that would be huge. Anyway I am also extremey happy with Jeff winning the title. Lets hope he doesn't blow it.

I respect your opinion about Hardy being unworthy of the belt (and, if this is the same way HHH feels, I respect it too). However, I believe that building Hardy up to be a main-eventer in this manner is just a risk that WWE and HHH are going to have to take. And, I can see that you believe that Hardy's overwhelming popularity does not outweigh his problems in considering to push him or not. Unfortunately, I will have to disagree with this.

You are quite the fact-checker and you will be duly repped for that. I think that Hardy still needs to go over HHH one more time (given how he has dominated him this year)...it should be a match, in my opinion, similar to Rock-Austin at WM XIX.

True, but it was the match that, in my opinion, solidified Rock as one of the greats, in that he finally went over the man that cost him the title at two Wrestlemanias. So, I am just bringing this match up to argue that, if Jeff beat HHH at WM 25, it would finally give him the final push he needed to be taken seriously as a main-eventer.

7 years or not, HHH was a big deal then too. It was a big deal for HHH to be pinned by Jeff then. Jeff should have been up there before but because of his "issues" he didn't. He has earned it, he has certainly paid his dues. He was the guy wrestlers picked to beat on WWF Superstars and Wrestling Challenge in the 90's. He was the jobber everyone wannted to wrestle. Heck he was the guy RVD picked to beat when he first came to RAW with Jerry Lawler. Jeff Hardy was due.

klunderbunker

Nah. Kofi had nothing to do on the show, and they've given the guys extra time before. One more day to lose it on Raw wouldn't have meant a thing. The Edge win and loss was to give a shock.

I've been a Hardy fan for a loooooong time...Basically since the Hardyz debuted, and I'd be pissed if the belt changes at RR...

It's bad enough the belt is reduced to a prop, let's not make EVERY champ a transitional champ. I like title reigns that are longer than 30-40 days.

However, considering recent events, I doubt Hardy holds it 'til Wrestlemania, and it's rare to lose the belt between the Rumble and 'Mania.

:banghead:

If he does keep it until then, he'll lose it there. So I'd say he faces either Undertaker or HHH...Considering 'Taker is but set to wrestle HBK, and HHH-Hardy is going to grow stale soon, I wouldn't mind seeing a new opponent...

Batista? Cena?

klunderbunker
12-15-2008, 12:29 AM

i don't agree, jericho won his title beating Punk, lost it to batista, beat batista, and then lost it to Cena. The 4 men in those title changes in a matter of just a few months didn't fail any drug tests. I agree there have been a lot of title changes all around but I don't think it has anything to do with the Wellness Policy

Wow I'm just amazed by this to say the least. It totally changes everything. I've wanted Hardy to win the WWE Title for a long time now, but this should have been a Wrestlemania moment.

I'm guessing now that Mr Kennedy vs Triple H for the title may be the Wrestlemania main event after HHH regains the belt.

On a side note, the World Title on Smackdown always changes hands too frequently for my liking. It's not good when we have a new champ on almost every pay per view.

Jeff Hardy is the WWE Champion and Matt Hardy is the ECW Champion. What a year for the Hardy Boyz!

Jeff Hardy deserves this. If only for the fact that he has been able to remain this over with the WWE audience all these years after numerous firings and suspensions, he truly deserves this. That's all the reason anyone needs to let Jeff Hardy be champ on a second rate brand.

And I love how "drugs" come up whenever Jeff accomplishes something. People act like he's a crackhead or something. So he has done some pain pills in the past, big fucking whoop. Hulk Hogan and the rest of our favorite wrestlers from the eighties and early to mid nineties all did WAY worse shit then that and we've always turned a blind eye to it. Whenever Hulk Hogan's name comes up, you don't hear a bunch of fans pop-up calling him a cokehead, even though at one time he was one. If you ask me, Jeff Hardy deserves that same respect.

12-15-2008, 01:50 AM
You know, in the end, I am just glad that Hardy won. If they take the belt off of him at the Royal Rumble, then that is fine by me. All that matters is that he finally got something that I believe he truly deserved. I haven't been as happy for someone winning a championship since Tommy Dreamer won the ECW Championship (although he only held it for under an hour).

I think he should've been let to chase it a bit more, but each time get cheated out of winning, leading to a Wrestlemania moment. But that's just me.

First of all, I am just shocked but extraordinarily happy and congrats to Jeff for finally getting his big break. Reminds me of when I saw his first match in WWE..jobbing to Razor Ramon!! Then he got big along with Matt during the great TLC and Ladder matches with E&C and the Dudleys, and has somehow remained and managed to get MORE over this entire time, even with all he's been through.
But here's an interesting tidbit. Now he doesn't have the most reigns I'm sure but I would have to think Jeff Hardy has the most extensive list of WWE titles of anyone in history. He is the 7th Grand Slam champion and then some. Here's a list of the titles he's won:

WCW Tag Team Championship
WWF/E World Tag Team Championship
WWF Hardcore Championship
WWF Light Heavyweight Championship
WWE European Championship
WWF/E Intercontinental Championship
WWE Championship

There could be a new level past grand slam champion and only Hardy would occupy it I believe.

Poor edge, biggest transitional champion ever

6 Title Reigns
Equaling 322 days

Out of them
2 WWE title reigns lasting 21 Days each
January 7 2006 - January 29 2006
November 23 2008 - December 14 2008

1 World title reign that lasted 29 Days
June 1 2008 - June 30 2008

1 World title reign that lasted 73 Days
May 11 2007 - July 20 2007

1 WWE title reigns lasting
76 Days July 3 2006 - September 17 2006

1 World title reign that lasted 105 Days
December 16 2007 - March 30 2008

If edge had won the European Championship back in the day he would be the greatest Grand Slam Champion of all the times. Though that has nothing to do with this post unless I say, Jeff Hardy is now the 7th Grand Slam Champion

Looking at it, 3 of his reigns were horrible, 2 werent the greatest and his greatest reign still wasnt that great.

NightShiftLoser
12-15-2008, 02:09 AM
I think the best person to chase Hardy now, is someone who has had the same kind of storyline...

So close...Yet so far...

I'm not saying the drug suspensions and everything. But, the idea of Jeff fighting to keep what he has worked so hard for, and someone that has always been soooo close trying to take it...

I haven't exactly figured out who, but most likely a face...Leading up to a Hogan/Warrior or HBK/Hitman (albeit not on that magnitude) kind of match...Two great faces fighting for their lives...

I don't see the match with 'Taker happening, especially if they're going to push HBK/Taker at 'Mania. They'll have him in the Rumble match...

Edge will probably get his rematch at the Rumble, unless they give a rematch to HHH

Italian MVP
12-15-2008, 04:21 AM
See thats the tricky bit because Koslov sort of cost Triple H the match, but he is feuding with Matt Hardy. Edge got pinned, but Triple H didn't. But your probably right, we will get Edge V Hardy one on one at the Rumble and Triple H will have to be in the rumble match.

NightShiftLoser
12-15-2008, 04:27 AM
I didn't see the match, and didn't read in detail enough what happened...

If it was Kozlov that cost HHH the match, it may end up being a Fatal Four Way...Which I hate...

It may end up beign a good match, but Kozlov doesn't have enough offense to take on 3 guys of their caliber, and HHH won't lose clean, so we'll just get HHH and Kozlov fighting again, setting up a match for No Way Out, unless their in the EC, and then they'll just be fighting again...

And, we'll get Jeff *hopefully* pinning Edge to keep the belt. A good angle would be, Edge losing clean, flipping out, and then attacking someone on their way in to the Rumble match, taking their spot, and winning it for his rematch with Hardy at 'Mania. It would probably mean less actual matches between them leading to "Mania, which will keep it fresh, considering they've been fighting since Edge came back...

Italian MVP
12-15-2008, 04:30 AM
But see Koslov is feuding with Matt for the ECW title, so i dont see where he could fit in. And i dont see where Triple H is going to fit into this, which I think will lead him to being in the Rumble match. And i do see him winning the rumble or the EC at NWO to get a shot at Mania.
