With the impending return of Rey Mysterio, we also begin the Rey Mysterio Injury Countdown.

How long before he gets injured again... I give him until the Rumble before he's onthe shelf for another year.

blimey, your being a bit hopeful there:D

i wonder what the chances are of him getting injured at unforgiven

I give him about five minutes. I really don't understand why WWE considers him a big name, I really don't.

Well, seeing as at Unforgiven he's in the ring with Botchtista, I don't give him very long at all.

One Bowerbomb, and hell herniate a disc.

Right when he's starting to make an impact he'll get hurt(murphy's law) so I'll say around survivor series.

Maybe because he's a great draw for the WWE, especially with the Hispanic audience, not to mention the children audience?

I say he makes it to one match with Kane, but then oddly enough goes down during a match with Charlie Haas.

He might not make it out for his entrance.

I'm going to be really generous and say... Armageddon

ha. He looks like he slimmed down so i give him to WM. He does seem to botch shit on the grandest stage of em all.

I'll give him Royal Rumble, where he hurts his shoulder being thrown out the ring.

Esteban Ochocinco

So the consensus at this point is, Royal Rumble the furthest before he's out, and tripping up the chute at Unforgiven at the earliest. Safe to say Rey Rey won't make it to Wrestlemania 25.

Is it wrong of me to hope he gets squished in that contraption he makes his entrance from?

Yes, it's very wrong. There are so many funnier ways he could be injured.

Well, plus side is, if Rey DOES get injured, we'll be entertained until his return by the debuting Charley Haasterio.

ROCKETPOTATO!

I'd actually rather watch Charlie Haasterio in action than see Rey in a match where he doesn't suffer from an amusing injury.

Haha great thread idea.

He was out for the last two WrestleManias...so it seems like the pattern is for him to come back around this time and get injured in between Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he gets injured around Armageddon, because by that time, everyone will be more than over the fact that he's returned and he'll be back to wrestling midcarders and trying desperately to prove that he's "main event worthy", so he'll try to work himself stupid and thus, will get worn out and injured.

Papa Shango

With the money Rey makes, I doubt he actually cares about "proving" he's main event material.

If Mysterio dies then maybe WWE will pay lots to get Mistico. I'm not wishing anything happens to Rey, but.....

If Rey survives the Rumble, No Way Out Elimination Chamber will be the end of his career.

I think he will get injured in Money In The Bank at WM25.

If Mania 25 has a Money In The Bank I'll be pissed. I'd prefer filler like they had at XX. Couple of tag matches, or just leave a few of them off the card.

Why don't you like Money In The Bank?

Shouldn't we have a "Candice re-injures her collarbone or injures something else" countdown as well...unless she's already done it in her atrocious comeback.

Now that's a good comparison....who jumps the gun and beats the other one, getting the quicker injury? Mysterio or Candice?

Papa Shango
09-07-2008, 10:45 AM
It's a close race, but if we expand it to include how quickly one of them will injure someone else, I say Candice.

It's an excuse to get people who don't need to be on the card, on the card. If they needed to be there they'd have a singles match with proper build. Not just chucked into a gimmick match.

Also pointless when you take into account all the wrestlers who don't win the MITB and get title shots throughout the year.

Oh and the matches are poor.

I'll give him to Cyber Sunday - where he jumps and sprains his ankle.

no way he'll make MITB

He got past Cyber Sunday, I still think it will be WM25.

idk, he's slimmed down some. When he was getting injured he was a little bulkier. I think he'll be healthy for a while

Has nothing to do with a wrestler with the initials of OG showing up on a steroid doctors client list...

well duh. he had no choice, and his body has taken some hits. Staying small is the only way to go.
