Is this why he just fucked off at the start of his Storm feud? Yes, I'm still pissed about that.

I loved his promo on Impact last night. I thought Sting was turning heel, but nothing that he said came off as heelish at all.
Hell the crowd was completely behind him during his speech and there were even some audible boos for Styles once he started talking.

I thought he came across heelish, but just not very well. Seems to me that Sting just cant play heel anymore. Its like Austin - no matter what he does he's going to be cheered. As for his feud with Storm, I would have bailed too.

Sting never could play heel. He's just too awesome to be a heel.
I thought he was saying a lot of 'real' stuff, and he did make Styles look like a hypocrite, commenting that you can't can't call someone a coward and say you respect them all in one.
Styles didn't have a proper rebuttal for that at all. Sting was on the side of: "I want a passing of the guard to the future but you young guys are irresponsible as hell", of course he was cheered.

Yeah, AJ really needed to not be made an ass of out there. Hes not the greatest talker obviously, and to be left to seemingly wing it against the Stinger was really setting him up to fail in that promo. I very much felt like Sting was meant to be the heel - if not just in that segment, but it really didn't work out very well.
That was a poorly scripted segment that just happened to have Sting to carry it through.

Well I just caught the end of the segment, but It appeared like it was just another veteran burying the future, I could be wrong though, like I said I didn't see the whole segment
I think they are more trying to make Sting a tweener then full on heel, as said before nobody will totally accept anything he does as a heel, and I think, or at least hope that TNA is smart enough to realize that, and not make him a full blown heel

Why?

Storm sucks. Stings promo was bad ass and about as spot on about this new generation as possible. Long live the veterans.

Explain to me why Storm sucks.

The promo was great all around. People need to quit thinking who's the heel and who's the face. AJ styles came off just fine in the promo unless of course your assuming he was the face. Both sides were saying what they felt and the beauty of the angle is we can cheer for whoever we want without it being told to us. Nobody is giving random insults to the crowd to make it clear there the "bad guy".
Both sides have a reason to be pissed and a split crowd cheering for both sides really comes off well during matches.

Storm is boring, I'm just not a fan of him, never have been. His whole character kinda reeks of Stone Cold Steve Austin Lite.

Sting is in that place where Flair, Austin, Rock and Hogan would be right now. They can do absolutely no wrong. He'd have to punch a woman in the face to get over as a heel. He's too popular/legendary.

this thread isnt about storm its about sting and him not being able to hand over to the next generation and if i was him i wouldn't the buissness is slowly dyeing i mean they don't even try top make it look real like jeff hardy v umaga a twist of fate witch umaga has kicked out and got up from in about 5 seconds before is supposed to stay down for the amount of time for jeff to climb a truck and swanton off it so in short sting shouldn't hand it over

I like Storm. But I have to agree with this.

'Cos he drinks beer? That's the only comparison I see. He's not a tweener (though when he hinted at it, it was awesome), he's completely ignorant and he's not particularly a rebel, especially in the way Austin was. He's even from Tennessee. He's got great charisma, good size and physique, puts on a great match (Texas Deathmatch anyone?), sells fantastically and works great on the mic.

Your just mad Sting had better things to do than to feud with James Storm.

I hardly think going home and slowly balding is better than a Storm program. Don't say it is. You'll be my eternal enemy if you do. I wish I was joking.

Storm didnt need Sting. To be honest. Storm has a bright future in TNA, he didnt need the rub from Sting like others.

It wouldn't hurt. Now look at him; one half of Beer Money. A worse fate than death.

I quite like that Tag Team. I can't wait for the eventual James Storm face turn to come out of it as well.

Tweener. He should be tweener.
Uncle Phatso
08-29-2008, 03:29 PM
True he should, I think storm would come off as a great face. But I don't think the fans would forget all the heel shit he did back in the day. Thus he would never be a full fledged face. Tweener is the right way for him i'd say.

Hey hey hey!
It's far more respectable than HBK's crown situation these days. :P

At this point, when Sting is on the verge of retiring, if he's going to be putting someone over, it should be someone who has the potential to someday be a worthy World Champion, and James Storm, in my opinion, does not fit that description. He's a nice little mid-carded to have on your roster, but nothing more.

Sting is the most boring wrestler of all time. That is all.

How did I miss this? I never miss lies.
Sting should put over Booker T, like how Ric put over Shawn. Lets put over people in their forties!

How did Ric Flair put over Shawn Michaels? He lost to Mr. Perfect when he left WWE in 1993.
