Apologises if this is in a thread else where, I use my mobile and it only lets me browse the first page in the threads.
But on with the point, it seems that WWE is acknowledging TNA more and more in recent weeks, namely with name references and a DVD name drop.
Jeff openly talks about TNA and mentions he liked their nickname, the charismatic engima more then JR's the rainbow haired warrior. And low and behold MVP introduces him as The Charismatic Enigma.
Matt Hardy and "Chris Haris" Walker, joke with the term Wildcat, another TNA reference
Ron Killings is using the R-Truth nickname, isn't that similar to his TNA one?
They may be subtle but at least they are on their way to acknowledge its there

Well a lot of the time WWE only mention them if they need to. There's no point Jeff Hardy saying ''The other promotion'' all the time when everyone knows he's on about TNA. They make as well cut to the chase and just say it. It's not like TNA who practically name drop WWE 10 times per episode. It's a fact that they do this, don't challenge me on it though.
Notice how WWE changed Killings name. If it was the other way round and he'd come from WWE to TNA and they were allowed to use his name, they're probably have him come out waving a flag saying ''Hey I was in WWE''.
And while TNA constantly remind people that Team 3D are former WWE champions, Christan Cage wasn't given an oppertunity in WWE etc. I doubt we'll hear ''Former TNA NWA Champion R-Truth''

There is nothing wrong with acknowledging other companies. I mean, there is no point in denying they aren't there. If you use outside example, you will see what I mean.
Networks refer to other network, (In Australia I notice this anyway) they usually do it inreference to something they have done. Sometimes it's an insult, sometimes it's used for comedy. But all publicity is good publicity right?
NRL and AFL have a tendency to come off at each other. The don't do it very consistently, but it is done none the less.
Anyway my point is that what does it matter, if they have something to talk about and it's in a different organisation then so what? It is not like that will suddenly give TNA (if that is the other program being mentioned) a ratings boost. It's not like WWE will lose money from it.
Both wrestling companies talk about each other, but it won't affect anything that will make the show worse. It won't effect performers, so there is no real big deal about it.

I wasn't mentioning it as a bad thing, competition is good and its good to see a some what subtle acknowledgement of TNA.
WWE has a tendency to rewrite wrestling history to only include themselves and its rare to see them mention the competition, usually only to take the piss.
As you mentioned danmen the NRL and AFL usually only mention the other to take the piss and its good crossbranding and promotion.
It seems like the WWE is giving TNA a bigger push than 1/2 its roster, and that's not saying alot
