This is a Thread for those questions that you wonder about and want an answer to but asking them may be stupid if you ask them in a dedicated thread because they only have one answer. So this thread is for Closed questions only!! So limited Questions in terms of focus. Open Ended Questions are for threads. This is also not a Trivia thread. Don't Treat it like one

What is a closed question?

A question which has a limited number of logical answers (eg 'yes' and 'no'), as opposed to an open or open-ended question.

What is an open question?

A question that gains information, usually beginning with who, what, why, where, when, how, or more subtly 'tell me about..'

This thread is for closed questions only.

Could someone tell me whether or not the Summerslam Anthology thats coming out next month will contain the Chris Benoit matches on them or not?

W.W.E. has edited a lot of their product with Chris Benoit on it, and they've pulled several past DVDs thats had him in matches, only to edit him out. I'm just curious if anyone knows whether the Summerslam set will be edited with Benoit being cut out of all his Summerslam matches.. or if anyone has an answer to this??

Is there any difference (other than region) between the UK version and the American version then? If so, what?

None at all. Well maybe different packaging. UK DVDs usually have age ratings on the spine. But otherwise no.

It's better to get Tagged Classics anyway. They are just video transfers. They don't blurr out the WWF signa.

Where can you get those tagged classics?

Because ive never seen them before but they seem like a good product

You can pick them up at any Video Store Like Best BUy, Circuit City, I have found them in Wal-Mart and K-Mart where I live. If you live anywhere other than the U.S. I am sure you will be able to find them in any video store that sells wrestling DVD's.

i dont see why they would. hes got a few matches on the Ladder match dvd and they didnt cut him out of that one nor did they pull that dvd. i think that WWE only did that at the time because they didnt really know what to believe and now after learning that the murder wasnt his normal self, that his brain trauma or damage actually had something to do with what he did plus that medication and steroids and eddies death and how unwell he was dealing with it even just before he passed, (glad this is typed cause id be out of breath) i think they have kind of started to let it go and sort of let those fans of his even if he did do what he did, kind of let them have parts of his dvd through other dvds i think. if that makes any sense. i think that WWE knew after that happened, he still had fans and they figured well over time maybe we shouldnt be so unfair to these loyal fans of his that are left and i dunno, i tried to elaborate on this but like i said, he was in the ladder match dvds and those came out long after he passed away and hes got a few matches on there.

ok this really isnt a question about wrestling but kinda. does anyone know anything about the new WWE Anthology cd thats suppose to come out soon?

Monkey Winchester
07-10-2008, 06:09 PM
The WWE anthology Cd came out back in 2002. It was a 3 disc set. The First Disc encompassed the 80's and early 90's. The second disc focused on the Attitude era. The third disc focused on the years of 2000-2002ish. I am sure you can still find it online or something. It is a good Set. I would get it if I was you.

If you mistyped and asked about the New Summerslam Anthology DVD set. That comes out sometime this year.

Actually WWE is planning on Anthology II. It's more music, and as far as I know all that is known is either winter of this year or early 2009.

I have a question, did Stone Clod actually get along with Vince behind stage back during the attiutude era?

Similar question..
Does Randy Orton get along with John Cena..
I don't know if anyone knows the awnser to these questions or if they even have a good idea but I would just like to know.

Yes Stone Cold got along with Vince Bacstage. Everything done in front of the curtain is for storyline purposes only.

Same with Cena and Orton. I have heard they are actually best friends in real life. I hate to break it to you. But most of what you see on TV is fake.

No, I highly doubt it. They usually just do it because it is an unfortunate way to lose a title.

Whilst reading an article, I saw this:

It's being reported that The Undertaker and Michelle McCool are officially a couple. The two are no longer keeping it a secret as both are very open about their relationship backstage.

Is this true or is someone just twisting my leg?

Monkey Winchester

It is true. They have actually been dating for some time now. Taker and his wife Sara split months ago. Michelle and Taker finally decided to make it official and announce it though.

Sometimes they are pissed.McMahon shouldn't be taking up a spot that could be used to push people.Depends on the angle really. But they never tell McMahon.EVER.Cause they want to keep their job.

Nobody could say. Probably because no current wrestler on a WWE roster would speak out. I can't imagine most would care. He's better than them, he owns the company, and he was doing it long before most of the current roster were employed.

You've got a weird friend. The Mandible Claw basically clamps the jaw causing pain. But the killer would have to be very strong to kill somebody with it or even break a jaw.Maybe he had a knife with him or something :lmao:

But the backstory makes kinda sense with the mankind gimmick and all that. But then again would WWE Wanna harm their image using a move that killed sombody?

The mandible claw actually was used as a "murder weapon". Read Foleys book, have a nice day. He touches on it. Jim cornette was the one who suggested it too him, and it was a wrestler called dr sam shepard, the doctor the movie the fugitive is based on, he was accused of killing his wife with it (apparently) and was convicted and jailed, however the verdict was over turned, the guy went on to wrestle in a southern wrestling circuit and using his knowledge of human anatomy came up with the mandible claw

Heres my question, I have laways been miffed by the ladder bumps, jumping off a high spot and landing on it, the average person would be laid up in a hospital for very a long time landing on a ladder like that, also I am including the part where Michaels head was smashed into a monitor. Are these stagged props, I mean how do you learn to land prefectly on a ladder back first from sveral feet in the air ?

These guys are trained professionals. They are trained to take those "sick" bumps. They are trained to take as little damage as possible from those bumps. They know what they're doing, but when they don't injuries happen. I can't tell you how they learn that as I've never been to a wrestling school, but there are obviously methods.

Why dont wrestlers use other wrestler finishing moves anymore in big matches? Back in the day it was not unlikely for the rock to pull off a stunner on austin, it happened in their wresltmania match and i think it adds well to a rivalry to taunt the other wreslters with their moves, it might also help cena out to get more then 6 moves under his belt. So yea the question is why dont wrestlers use others finishing moves anymore.

Because why do something you're not use too?

Example-

Your a good striker in football.Your winning 2-1.The coach puts you in as the Goal Keeper.Your not going to keep the lead are you?

Its pretty simple-they'll still get a pop if they do their finisher.Doing another.......well what happens if Taker isn't can't take a Tombstone Bump? He'll get injured.(Bad exmaple lol)

He debuted right after Wrestlemania. They wanted to push him as dominating, and make him a big deal. Thus, they gave him a Goldberg-like heel push.. and he won the title quickly.

kinda off topic but im going to the raw show in DC on the 28th and you guys just announced that they will b taping SNME, will this happen before or after the show, so i would have to show up like 2 hours early, or where kind i find this information.

Usually, the start time given on your ticket is the time anything being taped earlier also starts. For example, ECW used to be taped before Smackdown.

Show up at the time they say on your ticket, as that's when you're expected to be there. However, I don't expect anything to be taped AFTER the Raw main event, so everything else being taped will be taped beforehand.

When WWF used Fake Diesel and Fake Razor Ramon, did they acknowledge that they were impostors or did they actually expect fans to believe it was really Kevin Nash/Scott Hall?

Jim Ross announced that Diesel and Ramon were coming back to WWF. When the impostors showed up everyone booed. Ross then said, "I never said anything about Scott Hall or Kevin Nash coming back, I only said Diesel and Ramon." So, no they didn't try to fool the fans into thinking it was the same guys.

klunderbunker

Lawler was heel for the most part of his time on commentary. Just in the last 3/4 years or so has he become the face he is now. Ross has been what he is now for just about the majority of his career. They've tried a few times to make him heel over the years, and it bombed. Bad. It's on youtube if you search Jim Ross heel.

While I can't (like Polley) explain when Burke is coming back for sure, or even if.. he's currently under-gone a gimmick change. Several photos of him with a new, gothic-like look have surfaced and it's believed he's calling himself "The Black Pope". Since WWE owns WCW (Well they own all that was formerly...) will they ever put people into the Hall of Fame based on things they did in WCW - Notably Sting (and as a bonus... would they acknowledge his TNA time aswell?) and maybe even Goldberg? They already put Ric Flair into the Hall of Fame based on his NWA and WCW work, so I'd say the answer is probably yes.

It's really undetermined whether or not they'd place anyone in the HoF merely for something they did in W.C.W., the N.W.A., A.W.A., or anywhere for that matter.

I think the fact that it's the "W.W.E." HoF would say no, however. I can't say with any type of guarantee, and some wrestlers who've entered their HoF have been notably known for their careers outside of the W.W.F./E. however who knows.

By the way.. Goldberg, in my personal opinion, does not warrant a HoF spot. Just sayin' (this isn't a discussion thread either, if you wish to debate me, PM me)

EDIT: Sly beat me to a response, and he's likely more right than I am. Especially since Flair's career is a lot better in other companies than the W.W.F./E.

If a wrestler gets a contract termination after a "third strike" on the WWE Wellness Policy...

a) Does this mean they are not allowed to be in WWE again, or is there a time limit?
b) Is there then a limit on how long it is before they can wrestler for another company?
c) Do WWE get compensated for anything - Say if they lost a major star, which would affect merchandising, or if they had just signed a new contract with some nice bonuses/perks?
d) If they are a champion - Do they appear on TV to lose the title/be fired? (I know we have seen it for the 30/60 day suspensions, but what about terminations)

Just something quick - Is there a limit on how often I can ask questions or should I edit my posts instead of creating a second post? (I am thinking of these questions at different times, but I can see they may seem like semi-spam due to the closeness of them).

If a wrestler gets a contract termination after a "third strike" on the WWE Wellness Policy...

a) Does this mean they are not allowed to be in WWE again, or is there a time limit? It just says they are terminated. I'm guessing that the WWE wouldn't hire them for at least a couple of years, but that is just speculation.
b) Is there then a limit on how long it is before they can wrestler for another company? It depends on the worker's contract. But yes, they probably would be under a 30, 60, or 90 day non-compete clause, as it seems to be written into most WWE contracts these days.
c) Do WWE get compensated for anything - Say if they lost a major star, which would affect merchandising, or if they had just signed a new contract with some nice bonuses/perks?No. It is a self-imposed policy, so any firings they do is completely on their own.
d) If they are a champion - Do they appear on TV to lose the title/be fired? (I know we have seen it for the 30/60 day suspensions, but what about terminations)I believe there is a clause that says the WWE can arrange for storyline plans before any penalties are given. Thus, the WWE could transfer the title, and then fire. But, I'd have to check on that one.

If you go to corporate.wwe.com, they have the policy listed there.

THat's an opinion. There's a plan (as reported somewhere I can't remember) for a Sting retrospective, much like the one's for Ric Flair, The Rock, and Stone Cold. Plus the WWE airs old Starcade's and other WCW events on WWE 24/7, which means they acknowledge other companies. It also means that there are plans to put Sting into the Hall, because they have to promote it somehow, and it won't be in the ring.

Sting has to agree to be put in the HOF, before WWE can do so, I beleive this is the reason Owen has not been inducted yet, his wife, who would have to approve his induction, has said no (I think, I could be wrong)

i have a question about Unforgiven i want tickets, i know they go on sale august 7th but there is usually a pre sale and i have tried going and getting tickets the day they go on sale at the exact minute they go on sale and i get crap seats. i want to actually see the wrestlers. anyone know the pre sale code and date of the pre-sale?

Like it or not, for the most part the WWE gives those tickets out to local radio stations or such that are going to advertise the show. Also, scalpers that are in the know already have access to them, so it's tough. The worst case scenario is getting seats in the fifth row or so. I've been to a few dozen events or so, and always manage to get good seats, not front row, but on the ramp, which is just as good.

When is Gregory Helms gonna return?

There was a report on the newsite a few weeks back stating that Helms was "ready to go", what that means, no one is sure of. The next thing will be, is if the WWE has anything for him. He's coming off of serious neck surgery, so the WWE is going to take their time with him.

Well, Randy has said in an interview that the injury wasn't as bad as the doctors originally thought and also they were using some magnet technology or whatever that helps set the bone in place thus speeding things up a bit.

And as for Rey, well I read once that he wasn't completely healed yet, and was experiencing some twinges or whatever, don't know how true it is, so they're just giving him an extra rest. Either that or WWE doesn't have shit for him at the moment.

I think this might be a trivia question, and you know the answer, which I think is verboten in this thread, but I'll answer assuming it isn't. Chris Jericho has eliminated 6 people from the Elimination Chamber.

He eliminated Booker T and Kane at Survivor Series 2002, he eliminated Kevin Nash at summerslam 2003, Edge at New Year's Revolution 2005 and JBL and Umaga at No Way Out earlier this year.

We know that Kane has the record for most eliminations in a Royal Rumble with 10 at the 2001 event. That's actually quite impressive...a third of the entrants by himself.
But anyway, who has the most career Royal Rumble eliminations. And I don't mean just some pre-Rumble battle royal or Raw or Smackdown or anything like that. I mean the actual ppv event itself. Who has the most?

I'm pretty sure it's gotta be Kane too. I know he has the record for most consecutive RR appearances and is second to HBK in total appearance. He actually got 11 eliminations in 2001 (and sorta half of one for scareing the crap out of Drew Carey who eliminated himself) If its not him, my next choice is Austin. I can't get the exact totals cause my computer is acting up.

Kendrick left to go to ZERO01, he then had a brief stint in TNA and then went to ROH before returning to WWE.

His excuse for initially leaving was "It was a lot of fun and an honor to be there. It's just that what I wanted out of wrestling at this time, they weren't offering. I could be in Kurt Angle's spot, but it still wouldn't be what I'm looking for. "What I'm looking for is a chance to wrestle and to wrestle for a while and to tell stories in matches; ten, fifteen, twenty, thirty minutes, whatever it might be," he said. That's not really what they (WWE) specialize in. The matches are short and sweet. They're more focused on entertaining people with shenanigans, bikini contests, people getting sprayed with stuff or screwing a corpse, which is fine. It's funny stuff, it's entertaining I guess. But I'm 24 years old and while I can still move around, it's not what I'm looking for."

I've always been under the impression that the "30-day compete clause" was a work. Some wrestler's go over 30 days without defending their Championships. (the Tag titles, Intercontinental and Women's have all went at least 30 days on more than one occasion within the previous set of years I'm sure)

So my guess is, it's only valid when they want it to be. But if I were to guess, it'd be linked to any and every title.

I've run this one through my head a few times, and Im not quite sure "officially" how this match worked. Of course Cody has had 3 title reigns, so he must have defeated himself to get another reign?

(god i hope not) what i mean is actually give the show back to the ones that ran it back in the day (im not really sure who did other than russo/bissoff, hey, who ran wcw?? while were at this question game) and let the wcw/wwe wars re-start but at the same time, vince gets ALL the money....from both shows hes just not running one....i know they tried this with ecw and it didnt work, but i truly think it could work is wcw what do you guys think?

Just I was thinking the other day that Kane could have an amasing impact (no pun intended) on TNA and with him being about 41 TNA schedule should suit him better, but would it be possible?

Without checking, I'd have to say Kurt Angle just because he won the 2000 King of the Ring, and made it to the finals of the 2001 K.O.T.R. I'll check for further detail and get back to you. (in this same post)

EDIT:

Doing a rough skim of the results, including Qualifying matches..

Kurt Angle - 9
X-Pac/1-2-3 Kid - 7

Who has won the most King of the Ring matches in their career without actually winning the KOTF?

No worries man, you got X-pac down there too. I know he hasn't won. Thanks for the answer.

Now, who has the most WWE title reigns? all titles the WWE has ever had are included except the Hardcore title. So, to put it in another way, who has the most title reigns (WWE, WHC, ECW, IC, US, Tag (both titles), European and Cruiserweight/Lightweight) and how many total title reigns did he have?

Nothing has ever been flat out proven, but the main idea is that allegedly Savage had a fling with Stephanie when she was very young.

Probably not with it being in TNA at the time, WWE tend not to actually acknowledge TNA.

An interesting point as well, I was just looking at R-Truth's bio and there's no mentioning of him ever being K-Kwick (2 time hardcore champion!). they're pushing him as somenew guy, who sees WWE as 'the light.' I'm not sure if that's the case with commentator team saying anything, but according to wwe.com nothing.

I'm curious about who and when the last time someone actually won the world title back in their rematch.

1. Who and when was the last time the WWE title was won in a rematch?

2. Who and when was the last time the WHC title was won in a rematch?

3. Who and when was the last time the ECW title was won in a rematch?

WWE title would be Orton beating HHH later that night in the last man standing match at No Mercy.

WHC would be HHH winning from Shawn a month later in 3 Stages of Hell at Armageddon

ECW hasn't happened in the modern incarnation of the title.

By double, do you mean who has held multiple titles at once?

Without checking, off the top of my head I can name..

Kurt Angle - Intercontinental/European
British Bulldog - European/Tag Team
Owen Hart - Intercontinental/Tag Team
Ultimate Warrior - Heavyweight/Intercontinental
X-Pac - Light Heavyweight/Cruiserweight

D-Lo Brown - Intercontinental/European (I believe)
Shawn Michaels - Heavyweight/European

Who decides what wrestler should be pushed? what do they look at in a wrestler?

Mighty NorCal
10-09-2008, 11:50 AM
Depends on what company you want to know. The creative/booking teams pick who they want to push, with Vince over seeing all of it. Everything goes through vince in the end.

And they look at marketability, and work rate. Wrestling is about making money. SO they try to figure out the guys who can make them the most money.

You're probably right. I wonder whether he's actually a wrestler or if he'll be a one time gimmick.

Smackdown has further confounded me this night, and thus I pose a second question...in that Khali handicap match..was that Hardcore Holly? I swear it was him, really. WWE is listing the trio as "3 locals" but I swear it was him. Not the guy that Khali chopped, the guy who ran out of the ring.

Some say he has a huge saying in what he does in the ring and for story lines. I don't think he has anything in his contract to do it, I think anyways. But being in the company, as well as the main event, being able to walk out at any moment, while being able to be one of the most over wrestlers in the company. This is the reason why he will never lose at Wrestlemania, unless he wants to. If he wants to be champ, he will be champ. If he wants time off, he gets time off.

What was the real reason bruiser body got murdered? In short, because he was a real jerk. Constantly stiffing promoters on deals, not doing what he was asked, no showing, etc. He finally went down to Puerto Rico, which if you read any wrestling books, is a not a good place for wrestling as it is basically mob rule and you're lucky to get out with your life.

Apparently he did someone wrong down in Puerto Rico once, and got his comeuppance in a shower. While I couldn't tell you the specific incident, just know that it happened because Brody was not a very honest man and was completely unprofessional.

There is a book out there that I want to get some day about Bruiser Brody, just haven't picked it up yet.
