She gets released and nobody gives a shit, shows how much people care about her. I'm now turning this into the Torrie bashing thread. Man that woman sucked. Didn't she make her debut at Souled Out 1998? Or maybe it was 1999 I'm unsure. So nearly 10 years and she hasn't improved one bit. But for some reason she's lasted a lot longer than a lot of females in this buisness. She's attractive, but that's all she had to offer, poor wrestling skills and a limited personality. If anyone knows why she lasted as long as she did I'd like an answer. I doubt it was her connection to Billy Kidman that kept him employed.

To be honest, I thought she had been future endeavor'ed a long time ago. She was serviceable in WCW, because she didn't have to wrestle at all. Her role as the valet was perfect. She was also paired with wrestlers who they tried to push hard. She was even useful when the Invasion first took place, because being a woman in the company didn't mean she had to wrestle. Plus, she had a couple of Playboy shoots, and both issues she did sold high numbers. She had a great body, but her face definitely started to look Botox'ed out in her later years.

But being a woman in the company pretty much requires you to either wrestle or have enough personality to be a backstage interviewer. Torrie didn't have the ability to be either. There's only so much you can do before you're enhancement in matches, and lose in the only thing she was good for, bikini contests, because younger and fresher women are in them.

I was never a fan of Torrie Wilson. She always seemed bland, and while her wrestling skills improved A LITTLE BIT during her time in the WWE, it wasn't enough to keep her on the Roster. They have newer, younger, more athletic women on the Rosters now, half of them being able to put on a good match. With these new additions, Torrie really wasn't needed anymore. And with her bad back, she wouldn't have been able to wrestle anymore anyways. I've read that she requested her release, and that's really the only thing she could've done. Hopefully she's more successful away from the ring, because she wasn't very successful in it.

i sort of feel sorry for her having to go because of an injury. ok she never set the ring alight with her skill, but she was a useful valet and served her purpose pretty well in that she was eye candy (less so as she got older, but still hot).

and yeah, she really wasn't needed so it was time. she's got her clothing stuff to keep her occupied so i doubt she'll miss it too much

I can't believe what you guys are saying. Torrie Wilson gave everything to the fans of wwe/wcw. I still remember her debut back on wcw and she has deserved everything that she as achieved. The fact she was forced to go because of her back injury. I was very lucky to be able to chat to Torrie a few years ago and I would have never guessed that she was a wonderful social person. Her personality is amazing, she's not like one of those cocky, famous celebrity chicks. Seriously she is a wonderful, hard working human being and I am honored to have met her. When you are around her you can never feel sad because she always seems to cheer you up with her smile and anyone who criticizes or doubts her for what she has accomplished, then I truley feel sorry for them. But as for me, I will always remember Torrie. Like JR said in his latest blog, any man she settles down with, will be very lucky to have a partner like her.

She gave everything to the WWE for money. If she's had to retire due to a back injury then maybe she shouldn't have been involved in the sport. It's physical, what does she expect. If you can escape wrestling without a serious injury then you're very lucky.

The fact is that she's had to retire because of a back injury, even though she primarily participated in bikini contests. Hey maybe if she was properly trained, or had even learnt how to bump then maybe she wouldn't have a back injury. She's not a full time wrestler, so why has she got an injury that some full time wrestlers never have?

WWE will survive without her, they still have plenty of Blonde Bimbos to go around. I am amazed that she actually got a really bad back injury when she rarely ever wrestled, she was mostly in the WWE to be Eye Candy. She had a good run, at least WWE didn't put the Women's title on her, she did a good job as a valet and made it into Playboy a couple of times, that was the best she was ever going to get in the WWE anyways, I wish her the best of luck with her future endeavors.

I wanted to make a thread in talking about Torrie Wilson and the fact that she has been let go. I think that we should talk about her, the reason why she left and memories of her. And what the future may hold.

I think she should try her hand at acting. Stacy tried it and she got many roles. Yes, she did not get lots of roles, but she at least she had some roles. She can obviously model, but she with acting she be able to act for a long time if she can get good roles. If Paris Hilton can get roles why not Torrie?

I think it's so sad that Torrie had to leave the way she did, even if it was on mutal terms. It's a real shame that her back just couldn't get better so she could return and wrestler and win that Women's Championship that's really eluded her for so long. I know many, many people see Torrie as nothing but the highest form of T&A, but that's because they can't see past the surface and really see that Torrie trained for a long time and never had the chance to show all that she could do. You can see flashes of the talent that she did have in the occasional match against Victoria or Trish, or if you're lucky a houseshow match. I still firmly believe that if Candice Michelle could win the title, Torrie should have too.

I'm guessing the future for Torrie is just working in her new store. She can't wrestle, so I doubt we'll see her in any other promotions, and she doesn't seem the acting type.

EDIT: Uh, sorry, I guess there was no point in posting here then.

This saddens me very much. O.K so Torrie might not be great in the ring in regards to skills, but she entertained all the time and the fans loved her. Personally, she is my favorite WWE diva, but not because of her in ring ability, but because of her dedication to the business. In my opinion, she is the best looking diva especially because she doesn't look slutty like many others do e.g Candice, Jillian etc.

Posing in playboy doesn't make Torrie a slut, I think she is a classy and a friendly woman. Its always sad when a superstar or diva has to quit wrestling because of a serious injury.
Like many others, I feel that Torrie never showed her full potential as I believe she could have won the womens title if the WWE used her more often and trained her hard.

I don't think Torrie was ever terrible in the ring. She might have been terrible when she first debuted but I never really saw her until 2002/2003 so I cant really judge properly.

I wish her the best for the future and whatever she intends to pursue.

Torrie was good compared to some of the people we've had as champion. Recently the WWE seem to have made even a little more effort to expand the womens division, and there is quite a team of heels/faces. Okay so this isn't the best womens roster ever, but it has improved.

Torrie should be a part of that. If we can have a Raw Divas search and bring a brainless bimbo into the equation, we can have Torrie Wilson as a contender. She was NEVER that bad. She's not the best but she was better than many. She'll never be great in the ring, and in a time when WWE actually has a good womens division she would have no place in it. HOWEVER in the state of the womens division at the moment, we should be happy with Torrie involved.

If anyone knows why she lasted as long as she did I'd like an answer.

In WCW, I have no idea. She was a dime-a-dozen blonde with big fake knockers. In WWE, I'm guessing it's because she did Playboy twice and I'm assuming they both sold well. Plus, she was all about doing the overseas stuff with the Troops and whatnot.

She really didn't bring anything to the table, which is the same thing a lot of the current "divas" bring to the table.

Torrie improved in the ring slowly over 10 years, never held the championship & only thing that she won in was swimsuit contest. I cant even remember the last time she put on a good match. Although, to be honest she she is better than half of the Divas these days i mean look at Ashley for god sakes lol i can see her turning into another Torrie Wilson shes been with the WWE for 3 yrs & still not improved in 10 years time she probally be in the same boat as Torrie.

I do like Torrie but she cannot wrestle on the same level as Mickie James, Victoria, Beth Pheonix, Jillian or Melina. Best thing for her is to stay away from the ring in my opinion she should have been released along time ago.
I honestly don't to why she was still there after 10 years showing little improvment when the actual wrestlers like Gail Kim were getting released.

I didn't really care that much for torrie wilson. She could wrestle but not as good as mickie or melina, she older than both of those women and they can wrestle way better than here. Not only are they eye candy but they kick major ass at the same time! Maria was just a show diva at first and even though she did playboy that kinda helped her career every match she does I can see how much she has improved and I would like to see the title on her in the far future. She would make a good perky champ and with more training she could be really good.

I think Torrie had some potential (maybe), but she'd been around for so long and shown no real in-ring growth. I don't remember her early days, but it seemed like her popularity came from being in Playboy. That's fine I guess, and she was very hot and fulfilled her "boobs and ass" role (no offense to any females out there, but that seems to be the role of most Divas), but I can see why she was released. Torrie shall be missed, but perhaps this is a sign of things to come. They have been bringing in some decent divas (ones that can actually wrestle if given the chance) recently, so...
