View Full Version : Eminem to WWE?
According to MediaTakeOut.com rapper Eminem has secretly signed a deal with WWE and is taking wrestling lessons before getting in to the ring. The article states that he's getting in good shape and should debut in three or four months.
This is a gossip website so take it with a pinch of salt. If anything, it's possible he'll make a few appearances or take part in an angle but I cannot see him being an actual WWE wrestler.
Wow... If this is true, this could be worse than anything TNA has ever done. IMO, he could do an angle and get away with it, but C'mon, a wrestler? T'is quite sad lol

Yea i hope he done what Federline done, perhaps maybe having a bit of a better match, but actually being a full on wrestler is a bad idea. Maybe another angle with Cena would be good- with Cena as the heel, with a few rap battles (dont like rap myself) could be good.
Plus he is a much bigger star then Federline and anything he does gets on almost all the news stations so it would be good for the WWE.

I can't see anything coming from this, it could be a promotional thing, he gets air time for promoting his new CD, while he attracts viewers. It could work both ways. I just hope he doesn't step in a ring so he doesn't embarrass himself. It might bring publicity, and if thats when McMahon wants, Eminem could be the right person to do it. But the only thing i see coming from this is air time promoting his CD, while he attracts audience, and gets more publicity. Like an incest story line isn't enough?

First its the Pacman incident in TNA, now Eminem, has WWE gone low enough to attract fans these days?
In all honesty, sure Eminem is a big rap artist who all emo white kids who dress black look up to, but this actually won't attract more fans to tune in. I see him just doing a feud with Cena over who has the better white rapper gimmick, which will be horrible to some, entertaining to others. Vince or whoever thought this will be in hot water.
But like the article says its from a gossip site, so I will say it is a rumor, and nothing else.

This is a load of crap IMO, there were rumours flying around the past couple of months that Britney Spears has made a deal with WWE even though she is a total nutcase these days, and is not in any shape or form to be a part of the WWE madness.
I would probably believe this if it was 2003 and John Cena was still rapping. Eminem would make a shocking appearance and challenge Cena at WrestleMania because he thinks Cena is a rip-off of him. It would have been great publicity for WWE, even more so than Donald Trump and Vince last year, but I wouldn't be looking forward to it.

LOL Sharpshooter says "emo white kids" only listen to Eminem. That's bullshit, I totally forgot I was emo, damn, just didn't remember......If you actually knew anything about him you would know a good bit of his audience is teenagers which WWE would use to try and draw more viewers.
Honestly, I think the whole article is bullshit and won't believe it until they get more news on it. I knew he had a CD coming out soon so it could be a cheap way to advertise it and get WWE more public notice. But seriously WWE, if you would take your heads out of each others asses and actually think about what the business is for putting on good ENTERTAINMENT and WRESTLING. You would not have enough problems drawing enough viewers based on that instead of pointless celebrities coming in to attract a ratings boost that will last 2 weeks.
Well back to cutting myself while I listen to cleaning out my closet..:disappointed:

Well, I'm sorry if I offended your position as an emo, but I didn't know that emos can still watch wrestling and slit wrists for adredaline at the same time.
I listen to Eminem and his work, and I never think of cutting myself to relieve pain. It was just my opinion on how I view the demographics of Eminem's music. The bolded part just brings up irony. Don't know why, but it just does.

I know everyone is saying that this is a bad idea BUT lets give this a chance.
Firstly, bringing him in would boost the ratings to around the 3.9 mark. That would be huge.
Secondly, if he is training and as I have read "is taking this very seriously and really wants to make a go of it", then who are we to say he can't do it. Hell, he can't be worse than Cena at wrestling. (Still like Cena tho, just needs a few more moves)
Thirdly, it would be a huge shock to the industry, and the world to have Eminem turn up at RAW or even WrestleMania.
IMO, if he really tries hard and actually gets some class training behind him, then he can make a real go of this. I'd love to see him fued with Cena, god imagine the crowd.
Obviously, this is not concrete as it is only a rumor. But hell, the WWE were serious in wanting to add Britney Spears to the Kevin Federline storyline. (BTW, he did an awesome job in his run, love to see him return).
Either way, this can only help the WWE a lot, or they could muck it up and it may hurt them.
Bring on Eminem!

This is good for Slim Shady. I heard he is actually doing bad these days ever since his friend Proof died. All he does is stay in the house and play video games. Also has writers block when he tries to write songs when he use to be such a workaholic.
If this gets him back on his feet, I say do it. This is Eminem folks. Not a Pacman Jones or K-FED. We're talking Grammy award winning, platinum albums galore, Eminem. Considering how hes been gone from the bright lights for so long, people are going to want to see him. This could do wonders for the WWE. If they're looking to get those high ratings like they did in the glory days, than this Eminem thing will give them a chance.

This is good and bad from stand points. Its great from a financial stand point as Eminem is a very High Point celeb and somehow has managed to sell millions. :disappointed: I'll never understand it, just because I don't like 90% of his music. (a couple songs that weren't complete rap were okay)
From a wrestling stand point, this is horrible, because once again its W.W.E. stepping outside of their own roster.. and giving up most likely a ton of television time to an outsider who will never be more talented than your average indy federation wrestler. (K-Fed, anyone)
I think, no, I hope, that this will blow over and become nothing. Gawd forbid this actually happens and the storyline somehow involves more of John Cena and his outside of wrestling - rap (wannabe) career.
Overall, I hate this idea, because A.) I can't stand rap music.. and B.) I think the television time would be better served to be given to more talent to build them up for the future.. as opposed to boring the shit out of me, watching a wannabe, trying to figure out how to properly apply a sleeperhold.
And finally, I don't care if this is Eminem the rapper, or M&M the candy, whoever you consider the guy to be.. he IS NOT a legit Professional Wrestler. He's a glorified t.v. spot, which is only designed to make the Entertainment portion of Wrestling, even more fake.

This story if real will only be an angle to bring in Ron Killings as a TV personality again. This would be a good way as you have two real rappers involved instead of a Wrestler and The Biggest Loser. But if this is the only reason that they bring in Eminem that would be fine Ron Killings needs to be brought in Strong to hype him up for the Cena feud that we know is coming due to the real beef that they have with each other. And If Eminem is involved it adds an extra dimension to it.

As a kid that grew up on good hip hop (Eric B. and Rakim, EPMD, The Wu, all the classics) I can't stand Eminem.
The dude expanded hip hop's listening base, but with his repetitive garbage has been bad for the genre in general.
I can't imagine him adding anything to WWE tv that I would be remotely interested in.

Eminem would bring plenty of mainsteam publicity to WWE. It would be a great buisness deal on McMahon's part. Look what K-Fed did and he isn't even huge name. Trump the same, Eminem is by far a bigger star than he is.
I imagine he'll just do a Wrestle Mania rap or maybe be soebodys manager. I doubt he'll interfere with the product much. The guys tiny, they'd have to pair him with Rey Mysterio to make him look like a normal sized man.

Actually, I've heard he's gained some weight recently, and training for wrestling would definitely build him up a bit more. Now, I'm not saying he's gonna look like John Cena, but I don't see him showing up looking like Spike Dudley, either. Plus, something about the energy that he just exudes in his music videos and live performances makes me think he could put on a decent match. Not Bret Hart quality, but something makes me think that I'd rather watch Slim Shady than Mark Henry. And the PROMOS, oh, man!! You can bet those would be good.
To be honest, I wouldn't mind seeing Eminem vs. Steve-O. Not at Wrestlemainia, but I could see an entertaining match on TV happening.

Slightly disappointed , I might say. This would've made WWE more interesting and fun to watch, not saying it's not fun to watch now, just a little repetitive. Imagine, Shady in a wrestling ring, well, he has the promo ability, lol. Think of the excitement, especially after the K-Fed incident, lmao.

Yeah it was a false rumor, M's staff confirmed that they were false, and that M has no interest what so ever in becoming a wrestler. SO that ends this rumor, for now. I don't think it would have worked anyways.

eminem's publicist said that he has no interest in becoming a wrestler. what i see is the return of cryme tyme with their valet as eminem, he would fit in with their 'bringin the hood to you' gimmick. also, in a lot of eminem's music, he has mentioned wrestling, so he might be interested in an angle. why I say that cryme tyme would make a return is that a few months ago, they were the only thing keeping the tag team division alive, now the tag team division is a joke, plus both jtg and shad have been spotted in ovw within the last few months. although this is not likely, seeing as how eminem is a busy man, but this angle would be fun to watch.

Cena also said that he would miss WrestleMania and we all know how that turned out. This could just be another ploy for another big surprise that nobody expect. If WWE was smart, this is exactly how they planned it out. Rumors about Eminem in the WWE create a buzz, Publicist shoots it down. Em shows up on TV and BOOM.

I think it would save Vince some money if he would stop bringing in celebs ... like Mayweather and K-Fed. I think it would attact just as much, if not more attention, if he had some older wrestlers come back ... and challenge some big names like Cena. I'd rather see Arn Anderson come in and kick some younger man ass, than to see Cena and Eminem rap battle. JMO.

yeah, this is only going to be good for the cash like stated above but other than that, Eminem is going to flop faster than a fish can flop 50 times. unless, unless he can get as big as say Cena so that we can actually have some rap battles that would make some sense and be kind of funny or if he decides to get as serious as Cena does you know? it would be better to see Cena in more of a mid card thing than the main event cause hes freaking hogging the main event light, or if eminem can get as big as kennedy and go against each other as ego to ego or something. other than that, hes screwed and wont make it far.

The reason he goes after celebs is to open the WWE to a new audience. A mainstream celebrity validate that "wrestling is not a redneck sport" and gains major media attention that they wouldn't normally have. Personally, I don't really like it either. I could care less if KFed or anyone from Jackass shows up. Mayweather is intersting though.
Now for Eminem it's already been stated that the reports were not true. I don't think that the public would really buy into someone from another entertainment arena becoming a wrestler longterm. Though it probably would spark some interest and get some press. I do like it when they have celebs at Wrestlemania like they used to in the early days of WM but they don't need to be active wrestlers.
